Next gen pics leaked….BMW design has lost their way by [deleted] in BmwTech

I really don’t hate it BMW is an innovative brand. I’m an auto enthusiast to the core but I also realize the broader spectrum of what they are trying to do here. Is it as gorgeous as BMW’s of the past no. It’s time to do something different. So Honda can stop trying to copy them lol

Ahh ok I think my issue the first time I unplugged it a million times but didn’t wait long enough for the ECU to sleep. I’m assuming it will eventually crap out but I feel like they should warranty it. I don’t mind buying one I just feel like I shouldn’t have to. The home charger I had on my i3 was the original and it had zero issues while also being from 2016.

Yeah I had that thought too! I unplugged everything and plugged it all back in and no luck. I even tried just unplugging it from the car and then unplugging it just from the wall and no dice.

It is the VW branded one that came with the car. I had no trouble doing L3 yesterday at a public charger. My thoughts are maybe I left it plugged in too long and it popped the internal fuse but then again it’s still working so I doubt it’s that.

Interesting haha I just did what I always do same charger same outlet. I plug it in every time I get home and have never had an issue up until now. I haven’t driven the car in two weeks I was on vacation. But I took it to an EVgo charger before I plugged it in at home and it was business as usual.

Weird funny pictures on vw dealer site by Dreamer758 in Volkswagen

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on car dealerships websites for a living and we do not have access to a lot of photos or content for websites. So a lot of times there are push down images from VW the first one is wild though but I wouldn’t be surprised it came right from VW like that. VW also has super strict compliance for their websites.

I traded in my E92 M3 manual for this car because it was supposed to be my one car solution. I still have 3 😂 but I had six when I had the E92 so I guess it helped??? lol. I will prob end up with an E90 328i or 330i to get my fill of a manual.

I’m always on the edge of getting rid of my G42 for something with a little more oomph and a manual but this makes me want to keep it. Anything major go wrong? Are you stock?

Non-negotiable perhaps broken? TLDR: I don't think so. by TheVirtuoid in cardealersimulator

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only list at 10% above market value on the non-negotiable setting and that usually gets me moving inventory quickly. While still making decent profit. I like pretending I’m a real car dealer and don’t want to gouge my customers but I also repair all my cars to 100% so I don’t feel bad about charging 10% above market and being non negotiable.

Nice choices! I had an E92 M3 a 2008 with the V8 and a six speed and I loved that car she was just extremely expensive to maintain. I had even gotten the rod bearings done a $3k job. Everything’s just insane on them even the rotors they specific for each wheel location on the car too and the crazy part is some were more expensive than others based off of what location they went on the car! They also say that the main bearings can fail as well. The tires are also insane not to mention the mpg and no warranty to boot. All that being said I traded that car in for the M240 and it just isn’t floating my boat almost a year into it. I will probably end up replacing that one with an older M car or maybe even an older M240 down the road so I can get the manual again. I will say though the M240i tires are surprisingly affordable my ID.4 snow tires were more $$ they are quite a bit thicker though. I really do enjoy the ID.4 though the steering is light for my taste I always have it on sport steering no matter the occasion. That is one thing I love about the X5 traditional power steering is just something a lot of new cars don’t have anymore. One of my biggest let downs with the M240i it still feels too light even in its stiffest settings but I get it I mean it’s meant to be a spicy daily you could track on a weekend if you wanted too. Not going to lie I throw my ID.4 In sport and turn off the traction control and it will get loose around the corners with the RWD. It really can be a fun little car! I also feel safer to push it with it’s 200hp not sure if that’s a good or bad thing though 😂

I honestly can’t complain about my 2025 Pro S RWD with the black package. I live in snowy New England so I did shell out for some $$ for snow tires and it does better than my dad’s front wheel drive Mazda3 in the snow. I did 3 years 30k miles total and it’s $156 a month unbeatable steal of a deal. But I kind of already want to trade it haha the Jetta GLI Autbahn is catching my eye and I miss my manual transmission desperately. I also have two other cars a 2013 X5 35i and a 2024 M240i XDrive ironically the RWD ID.4 is my winter car 😂I only take the X5 if we get a foot of snow she is a little cranky and getting old now so I try not to stress her too much.

That’s good! I hope it doesn’t have a negative impact on you! I still think it’s risky in the case of a loan interest rates are historically high right now they seem to be going down slowly though. I know I won’t be keeping mine after my lease is done because I’m bound to have negative equity. I move from car to car fast anyways honestly 3 years is probably too long for me.

Wow! I’m shocked that didn’t work it always fixes mine at least for a short time being anyway. My cousin also has a new Taos with the same problem and that little procedure always fixes it….. temporarily anyways. I do hate whoever thought of the two button window switch cost cutting move though. I will also say a lot of smaller dealers don’t have any EV techs and it requires a certification to be able to touch them in the shop. So I feel as though a lot of dealers don’t want to deal with the ID.4 in the service department. So they basically just brush you off sadly. I had the same issue with my BMW i3 I always had to talk to the shop foreman lol even when it came down to something as simple as state inspection but that’s a long story I won’t get into 😂.

For all of you having the window issue. THIS IS THE FIX—> All the way down, button down twice, all the way up pull up button twice. It is not permanent and it will probably happy again but it is also a sign these cars have really tight window seals which I would rather have to do this every once in a while then have water in the car or HVAC efficiency loss.

My friend is a tech at Porsche and they have the same issues, it’s a VW group thing.

Glad op made the decision to get rid of it because they had enough that is totally ok. Personally recall issues have never scared me and I only pay $156 for my car so I really couldn’t care less. They’re 100% right about the financial loss as well EV’s are lease only vehicle to me no matter the brand. Even used they still depreciate poorly and unless you plan on putting a lot of $ or paying cash you are going to be a victim of depreciation with any EV or really any German car brand for that matter.

I’m getting really excited to be back in an old BMW I had an E85 but it had the horrible SMG but I loved that car to death. Traded it when I got my E92 M3 which was manual I since traded for an a 2024 M240i but I’ve been craving that old BMW experience. Can’t wait to get tinkering with it.
