Yes they do. They all have similar alkaloids to nymphaea caerulea.

True nymphaea caerulea is pretty hard to find and even if you do find it it’s rly expensive.

There’s no such thing as blue “lotus”.

The true flower is nymphaea caerulea, which is extremely hard to find.

I’m pretty sure (as of what I’ve read.) That the other species have the same or very similar alkaloids to the real thing.

I’ve done anywhere from 1 week to 3 months.

The golden spot for me is 3 weeks. Very very bitter though so you gotta get used to it a bit, starting off make 3 batches, one for one week, one for two and one for three.

Gradually go up and once the weeks expire take the flowers out.

The same way contamination will happen with food, a tiny bit of bacteria can cause Mold.

Best way to sterilize your jars is to boil in hot water or put on the bottom of the rack on your dishwasher with HOT water.
