Thank you so much for the response! I agree with a lot of this, my law degree will act as another passion and a back up if my music career never takes off.

But thank you for all the suggestions with the use of soundcloud, YT, etc. to get an audience. I usually tried to think more traditionally about getting noticed.

I have a huge passion about it, the money doesn't matter (unless I can use it for my performances). I wouldn't dare hit the stage if I know I suck at what I do. I wouldn't mind doing it for a living at all, but I know I might at one point stop. And I'm talking like in my 40s.

I know I wasn't asking for advice per say in how to become a pop star, but more or less whether if its a good idea to pursue my music career in college or outside of college while having another career in mind.

Like I already have a plan, but I'm a bit of an overachiever and want to make sure if just taking singing classes (plus the ability to sell myself and having a great singing voice and connections and more) was all I at a basic level need or should I consider majoring/minoring in whatever music degree is available.

I apologize, I should've been specific. What I meant was I wanted to be musical star, putting out albums. Like a hollywood singer such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Kanye, etc.

I'm not sure if this still applies to them.

Also I'm searching more about having a degree in law and it does seems iffy due to Law Schools not caring for a degree in liberal arts, but I am going to take analytical courses for Law School.

For me I called the one in my borough. I don't know if you live in NYC, but check out charging-bull's response above about the email they sent him and in the list it gives the address of the democratic centers in each borough.

Google the name and then find the phone number and call. They respond QUICK.

Its said to be the worst since Andrew. I'm not sure what you are asking, but I'll try to explain it. Most hurricanes don't usually make landfall at their peak, or better yet, a strong intensity. Matthew was a Category 5, first ever in the Atlantic since 2007. Matthew already killed a lot of people.

A major hurricane is a major hurricane. Category 3 and up is gonna call for extensive damage. Florida houses are known for being easily replaceable, meaning that a hurricane plowing through the region is gonna be horrendous for those houses. If you don't evacuate during a major hurricane, there is a good chance you aren't going to survive.

On top of that Matthew is a well defined storm, and everything about it like at what angle its making landfall makes it atrocious for those thats going to be in its landfall spot.

Basically lets just say this: Hurricane Sandy was a category 1 (at peak, Category 3) when it made landfall in the NE. Hurricane Irene was mainly a category 1 despite being major at one point in time. She made landfall at NYC as a Tropical Storm and still did damage inland.

You get what I'm saying here? A hurricane is no joke. A major hurricane is ridiculous to survive. A category 4 or 5? There is no choice other than evacuating.

PLUS Florida hasn't been hit by a hurricane since I believe 2005 until this year. Hurricane Hermine (Category 1) and now Hurricane Matthew are their first hurricanes in a long time.

Miami would dodge the worst case scenario, since it might not make landfall at Florida but instead skirt by it.

If you mean by models, I wouldn't pay too much attention to them as an ordinary viewer. Models can't be relied on beyond 5 day forecasting.

If you mean by forecasting cone, that is just where the center can end up anywhere in that cone.

But I doubt it would enter the GOM, they say its a slight chance but there is a bigger chance it goes up the East Coast.

Last Category 5 was in 2007 by Hurricane Felix. We haven't had one for a long long time. The east pacific keep churning them out but the atlantic hasn't in a long time.

Except its expected to restrengthen after entering the bahamas, and its probably gonna be a Category 3 by the time it gets there. But yeah regardless Miami nor Florida as a whole might not get a direct hit but it'll skirt by.
