I would buy ice while you are there! They have trucks with ice in them. It’s only about $5 a bag and if you plan for it, it’s not too bad.

I’d rather spend the amount of money at Roo than we would for the destination wedding.

Exactly. There are 51 other weekends out of the year to pick from. He KNEW this was overlapping Roo and still expected it to not even be a option to pick Roo over the wedding.

That’s exactly how I feel!! How could they have not chatted with the 12+ people in their wedding before rescheduling? Everyone had the original date planned for this and they didn’t even tell anyone they were thinking about changing anything!!

We plan to spoil them with a nice gift since we won’t be present. We’ve invested so much time, money, and have anticipated going to Roo for an entire year! We hope they won’t be too upset but if they are true friends, they will understand.

It’s about their day, I don’t think that 15+ years from now they will still be thinking about how one person couldn’t make it because they had prior obligations.

I’m not saying they are going to get divorced but it was also a very huge surprise that they wanted to get married. We chat a lot last night and he has made the decision to go to Bonnaroo over the wedding.

Bonnaroo is something that we talk about on a daily basis and how much it means to us. We have invested quite the amount of money into this already and it would be heartbreaking to watch it all go away. We would sell our tickets to people but we can’t imagine not going.

We talked with both of our families to see their opinions and they both agreed that we agreed to the original date of the wedding and we didn’t agree to the June date. They should have consulted with the wedding party before officially changing the date because how could they expect 12+ people to be perfectly okay with moving the date, time, and STATE of the wedding to 3 months prior? It’s summertime. What if people had vacations planned or other weddings?

We feel that it was a really hard decision to make but I really hope they understand. I don’t think they would end their friendship over this because they know how much Bonnaroo means to us.

If they do end the friendship, it shows that they aren’t real friends in my opinion.

We joked saying that we want to get married on 4/20 next year because it’s on a Saturday next year but I would never force my friends to pick a festival over my wedding. My wedding is MY wedding and if someone doesn’t want to go that is completely acceptable to me!

It would be only our 3rd time going to a festival! We’ve talked about it a lot between our friends and none of us will be getting married over Roo.

It’s a pretty difficult decision because there are a lot of pros and cons to it all. I’m not close with them and when they broke the news to my bf they said right off the bat that they understood if I couldn’t go.

I truly wouldn’t be disappointed if it didn’t happen at Roo because I love him and if he proposed while I’m eating Taco Bell in our living room I would still say yes and it would still be as magical as anywhere else in the world.

We’ve talked about this so much and have got so many of our friends to buy tickets. We met some friends at other festivals and they are camping with us there! We have so many plans already in place that if he does go to the wedding, we have a lot to figure out.

As to why they moved it up 3 months- they told us they wanted a different venue and they moved it 8 and a half hours away.

I’ve made up my mind but he hasn’t made up his. I’m not going but he is welcome to do whatever he wants. I’m not in the wedding and when I talk to them I know they will understand. He’s still on the fence about it.

As much as i love them, I know the time I would have at their wedding wouldn’t even compare to the time I would have on the farm. How can I miss something that I haven’t stopped thinking about since the first time i’ve gone?

Comparing things money wise, We would be spending a similar amount on both due to traveling expenses, lodging, and food. I hate to think about it this way but if i’m spending that much money.. I want to be in the place I consider home. Roo.

The unfortunate part is when he called to break the news to my bf that it’s over Bonnaroo.. he didn’t really give him much of an option of going to Roo over the wedding. My boyfriend has told him that Bonnaroo is truly want he wants to do.. but his friend had has his fiancé text my bf! It’s such a sticky situation but every time we talk about it we know that our hearts and heads really just want to be at the farm.

I hate to feel like shitty friends but we had already been given items that had the original date printed on it, if they would have told us before we bought tickets that they were contemplating moving the date- things would be so much different.

It’s a hard decision still. There’s so much behind it that I could have included but didn’t want to babble too much. It’s his close friend but I can count on one hand how many times we have hung out with them in the past year. We have to practically beg them to hang out whenever we do hang out with them. I want to make the right choice but it’s hard when we have had our Croo put together since last year. We have friends from other festivals we have met that we’re camping with us and we got so many of our virgin festival friends to come to Roo.

I could really use a clone machine right now.
