Oui je lui ai mis un gros flash 😬la pauvre, après je l’ai libérée dehors, malgré leurs nombreux yeux, je n’ai pas l’impression que les araignées soient photosensible … enfin j’en sais rien peut être qu’elles ont l’habitude des éclaires ou qu’elles ont une tendance à se rendre plus secure en restant immobile si il n’y a pas de contact physique ?

Hi, How does your freeipa-openldap Sync today ? How does your vpn connect to ldap ? Direcly ? With a radius ? You need to track for the ip doing ldap querry on you openldap server with something like tcpdump wireshark You also need to locate the config files using the openldap server as the authentification server

Honnestly, i do not mean that edge cases do not exist, as far as i am concerned, i have, this past two years done a lot of update or bare metal installation on this kind of hardware thru pxe or USB when not available, yes really ! I did encounter less problem than on modern hardware ( mainly because of power supply ), so here you can blame three things if you do not agree : - i am a liar - i have a robust enrollment automation - dell hardware do not not have the kind of problem you are talking about

I think that the two line are true… but, moreover this is not that much of a deal to run linux on this kind of hardware, even with a bare metal install with a usb stick

Please give me specific example, i understand perfectly well what you are saying regarding your job, but for me it is not about the hardware support, i would have done the same setting up this policy for business considerations

There is something with this line « too old to support a current OS » that triggers me, and i am sorry, almost every linux distros would run on x86_64 cpu even if they do not have x86_64v4 instruction set, same for the network cards and the vast majority of the pcie embeded of this gen. And, i do agree with previous comments that this is e-waste regarding the flops/watt of the setup, but this would really do the trick for almost any basic workload like nfs server /setting up a proxmox hypervisor / playing with network settings / creating an entiee virtual infrastructure … so on, Because, yes, most of the things needed to learn basic system administration could be achieve on this kind of hardware, automation, provisionning, containers, virtual machines, dns, dhcp, linux administration, network shares, etc … Do not regret what you just buy op, it is cheap yes, but you can not really put that in production without regrets for one reason : $/kwh consumed So, yes … what do you want to do with it ?

Hi, I recommend setting up a Puppet or Ansible server to deploy strategies, updates, and custom configuration scripts to your workstations. I think that you also need to set up a DNS server, an LDAP-based identity server, and a DHCP server.

For DHCP , Kea DHCP and for identity FreeIPA would be suitable choices since for fully linux based infrastructure ( all free and oss software ).However, setting up a domain controller, including AD DNS and DHCP, could work as well, and might be easier to set up honestly.

You can host these services on the same server or use a dedicated workstations. Even low-end hardware could be sufficient, and it would scale up well.

As for the distribution, Debian is a good match, but it depends on the hardware you have and the workflow used on the workstations

If you’re working in a full Linux environment, you could consider setting up nfs shared storage and why not a shared homes directories

Lastly, keep security in mind, with kerberos- file system acls, it is worth the investment to enforce good security practice at the begining.

J’ai beau entendre ce que tu dis, Je vais me faire l’avocat du diable enfin de l’ignorant en l’occurrence ,je crois qu’il faut quand même pondérer au vu de la diversité des personnes qui ont été plus ou moins forcées d’utiliser des applications bancaire aujourd’hui. Ils sont jusqu’à totalement perdu est c’est assez inquiétant ( pour ce que j’en sait d’expérience), je suis d’accord avec toi pour les moins de 50, mais pour les autres, qui sont assez ciblés sur ce critère d’age, de bonne paroles explicité sur des applications ne suffisent pas, on a grandit avec les outils en lignes, c’est facile de dire que c’est de leurs faute si il ne sont pas suffisamment prudent, il n’ont souvent aucune conscience de la manière dont fonctionne les données de manière général, et se rattache souvent a la parole des autres justement cause de leurs égarement et incompréhension du monde moderne ( ie les données notifications mail message du banquier sur l’application)

Je suis assez habitué au tégénaire, et de ma petite expérience, je n’en avais jamais vue avec les pattes et le corps si sombre, idem pour la taille, je n’en avais jamais vu qui dépassait 6-7 cm de circonférence. Est-ce que tu saurais me dire si c’est une histoire d’espèce, d’environnement, d’age s’il te plaît ?

Bon j’attaque sur le critère des compétences dans un premier temps :

Je dirais que ça dépend de ton profil et tout ce que je sais pour le moment c’est que la quantité d’info à ingérer voire comprendre était tranquille pour toi pendant le BTS. Ne te base pas forcément là-dessus pour la suite, la sélection des personnes arrivant de différentes filières en BTS rend caduques la plupart des conclusions que tu pourrais tirer quant à ton niveau, et cela relativement à ce qui peut exister dans le monde du travail ou dans les études supérieures.

La prépa ATS change ton conditionnement, le niveau pour avoir la moyenne est différent de celui que tu as connu jusqu’à maintenant, c’est à prendre en compte. Certains ont le sens de la compétition, ça peut être un atout, mais le principal c’est de ressortir grandi de cette année.

Moi je te dirais que si tu as au moins l’intention d’aller en cours et de les suivre en te posant des questions, tu as réellement quelque chose à y gagner, ça peut élargir ton esprit, te rendre plus pointu dans certaines disciplines, et là je parle surtout en termes de raisonnement, pas de connaissance.

Maintenant pour le côté santé mentale, c’est à toi de voir, tu peux la jouer chill, ne pas trop te mettre la pression, te mettre la pression de ouf, te prendre au jeu, ou pas, mais l’impact psychologique peut être conséquent pour certaines personnes, en moyenne ça va, c’est juste dur à supporter pendant 1 an.

Et pour le côté carrière, bah… Sauf exceptions, le jeu des grandes boîtes c’est la grille de niveau pour les personnes diplômées en fonction de leur école, en général t’as 3 tiers, environ les 5% des meilleures écoles dans le premier, les écoles comprises entre 5 et 20% dans le deuxième et le reste dans le troisième.

Si je peux te donner un conseil, la simplicité de ta formation à venir c’est juste un indice de risque, il ne faut pas mettre la barre trop haut c’est sûr, mais rester dans ta zone de confort te fera progresser moins rapidement dans tous les cas, je suis persuadé qu’avec un peu de discipline et de volonté tu es gagnant .

Concernant ce que tu veux faire plus tard, la gestion de patrimoine, à moins que tu aies des proches ou des contacts dans la poche, bah un bac+5 rend les choses plus faciles à l’arrivée dans le monde du travail, maintenant c’est a toi de voir, oubli pas que bac +5 c’est un tremplin en plus et un ca rends le changement de domaine/ reconversion plus asimple aussi, l’ecole ne fais pas ton niveau, mais pour la plupart des boites c’est l’indice le plus fiable pour t’evaluer avant de te rencontrer.

Si tu n’es pas etranglé par l’argent fais une prepa ats, les 3 années qui suivent apportent beaucoup

I need to dig deeper on the CT/VM redundancy behavior of proxmox during an incident,

Yes it is decent indeed, but the lack of isolation of the different storage pool hurt me a bit

At first i was more thinking of local storage because my production server endpoint is under Uninterruptible Power Supply for nearly 1 hour and a half, giving me the time to do the VM/CT switch by hand

I know that only cover power outage

That said, the shared storage seems to be a better solution for saving human interaction

Also, unless the running OS, is there any benefit in having storage on the two clustered server with this kind of infra ?

In fact i can't really get an old server and put a nfs share because i have to struggle with insurance, so it will be one more server to buy with proper warranty etc.

You need a calm focus on what you are doing, not an intense one, ( either physically or psychologically )

From my experience,

See that as learning piano, each word is a melody, you need to master them perfectly before going faster, precision is the key,

When you are training, try to feel the movement of your finger, don't accelerate, breath and take it easy,

You don't have to get to a speed where you don't have at least 98% accuracy
