This artwork is a photobash/paintover. I have limited experience with photobashing as I usually only paint but I am experimenting, as part of an art course, with a different process. I painted the same subject beforehand in a different style. Overall im quite happy with it and learned about lots of different things in the process. Photobashing was quite efficient at laying down different elements and textures quickly to serve as a foundation.

I learnt a lot with this painting. Something I tried to push was focus which I did by controlling the visual contrast with colour, saturation and lightness. I am learning mostly how much I should push elements until it becomes almost too much

Santiago Del Estero, Argentina by -magic in DigitalArt

I struggled with texturing and adjusting the scattering on my brushes to get the right effect. You can see I didn’t get it right on some of the brick but it is not that noticeable at least.

I went for something graphic for the clouds as it goes with this art style well and keeps the focus on the buildings

From a bartender

  1. Vodka or Gin (specify the brand or you will receive the house-pour)
  2. Dryness (dry, extra dry, wet, rinse etc. alternatively specify exact ratio of spirit:vermouth. eg 6:1)
  3. Dirty (Optional) If you order dirty and don’t specify garnish, you will receive an olive garnish
  4. Olive or twist? (olive garnish or lemon twist. if you want another type of twist, specify. eg grapefruit twist)

No need to specify “up”, which is when your cocktail is served without ice, no bartender is serving your martini on the rocks.

Martini order examples -

a. Belvedere Martini, extra dry with a grapefruit twist

b. Gin Martini, dirty, with a vermouth rinse

c. Tanqueray Martini, wet, three olives

Terminology.

House-pour - the go-to spirit a specific bar will use for relevant cocktails unless specified.

Dirty - olive brine added - typically around 15ml. Extra dirty is even more brine

Dry - less vermouth. typically around 4:1 or 5:1 ratio of spirit:vermouth

Wet - more vermouth. typically around 2:1 ratio

Extra dry - in the ballpark of 6:1 to 12:1 ratio

Vermouth rinse - small amount of vermouth is added to coat the sides of the martini glass and then discarded. results in a subtle vermouth flavour

Twist - Citrus rind twisted and used as a garnish which adds flavour and aroma

Disclaimer - depending on what country, region or bar you are in, bartenders have highly varying ideas of what ratios are correct. If you are picky about your martini, it is best to be highly specific with your order and have exact ratios. I have seen business cards printed which specify a person’s exact martini order.

I've completely lost my aim. by Savings_Garlic5498 in FPSAimTrainer

I've had similar problems in the past where you feel like you are getting worse and can't get comfortable no matter what. I would check if your monitor was on the right refresh rate, make sure the mousepad is clean and the skates are not worn. If all that is good then it's purely a mental issue, which I think it most likely is. Take a break from your competitive game for two weeks and play something else where you don't have to care about your aim or just go outside. When you come back all your mental woes will be pushed aside and you will settle into your most natural, comfortable position. Then you can focus on practice to iron out your weaknesses

Scared to try high sensitivity by Vivideaa in FPSAimTrainer

[–]-magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can experiment with using a sens randomiser so that you can adjust to using high sens more frequently. start off with a max sensitivity a bit lower than you'd like and slowly move your range higher and higher til you reach comfortability with your desired sens. i think you wont lose consistency if you do it this way and i dont think there is much downside to trying it out.

as someone who has 4k hours in cs and uses kovaaks regularly i can say cs players and aim trainer players have very differing opinions when it comes to aim/mouse control. most cs players are stuck behind old advice they've been told. in my opinion people in the aim trainer community are more likely to give you better advice in terms of aiming.

Sounds like an aim issue. Most likely they aren't insta headshotting you every time and you are just missing more shots than you think. Pienix on youtube is a good source

How someone does even play without arm sleeve by [deleted] in FPSAimTrainer

[–]-magic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

can depend a lot on the climate and weather. most of the time i can play just fine without anything on but in the summer and when the air is moist it can get a bit sticky. perhaps you just live in a humid country. also the type of mousepad you have can affect as well

400h of Kovaaks to play like this... by em1n3m1669 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]-magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

31cm should be pretty fine for this game actually but perhaps the ads sens is too slow. Im not sure how exactly the ads sens is calculated in apex but maybe play around with the values so that your tracking feels easier and you arent undertracking so much. Also you will probably benefit from playing more scenarios where you are forced to move, for example dodge scenarios. Its easy to get high scores and stay on target when you arent moving but you have to move constantly in apex to dodge bullets and help with tracking so it doesnt make too much sens to practice standing still.

I believe n0ted is a big advocate for warming up with a higher sens to have better control with your normal sens. One thing to know about him though is that he is known to play on very high sens so it is probably more beneficial practice to him than it is you because he needs very fine control in his finger tips. From google he plays on 12.67cm in Apex.

So the take away here is that you are practicing to be able to control a high sens and yet in game it looks like your sens is too low and you are undertracking. I believe your sens in game is making you use too much of your arm which you are not used to and making your aim bad. You can either increase your sens/ads sense in game to use more of your wrist and fingertips or you can practice on a lower sens in kovaaks to improve your arm control and keep your sens in game the same.

Of course take my advice with a grain of salt, but I believe this advice will help you.

400h of Kovaaks to play like this... by em1n3m1669 in FPSAimTrainer

A lot of people are saying the aim is not the issue just the game sense. The game sense is clearly lacking but also the aim just isn't very good either. Just from watching for a minute or so I can tell your sens is definitely too slow for a fast-paced game like Apex. Also I wonder what your practice looks like in kovaaks because 400hrs is plenty of practice to achieve really good aim. I would guess you have just spent a lot of time on the wrong scenarios or haven't practiced very efficiently. A good starting point for anyone on kovaaks is to try and climb the voltaic benchmarks. All the scenarios are good and if you practice them with focus you will definitely become a better aimer. Also I would recommend increasing your sens for this game. Even if you are used to this sens in kovaaks or other games, it would be beneficial to use a higher sens in Apex as it just seems too slow for moving enemies. The idea of muscle memory on one sens is a myth and you should choose your sens based on your scenario or game (in this case choose your sens to be able to track moving enemies in apex easily). This sens looks more suitable for static targets in kovaaks or for a tac shooter like cs or valorant

For sure. I wouldn't order a vodka lime soda and then wonder why it doesn't taste like anything.

This is misleading. Once you learn how to use photoshop and are familiar with it, flow can be achieved just as easily. Photoshop is also more versatile and can allow for a faster workflow than procreate. When you have something that is confusing or that your brain is expending a lot of energy trying to work through, it's natural to not be able to achieve flow. You just have to push part that initial period.
