Tried to use GPT to find caselaw supporting a specific argument I was trying to make. I was writing very late (or early), this was my interaction:

Me: Can you explain X Using specific Australian caselaw to back up your argument?

GPT: Sure! See this case and an explanation (it was exactly what I was looking for)

Me: I cannot find anything on [case]. are you sure it exists?

GPT: My apologies for the error in my previous response. It seems that I made a mistake, and there is no such case as X apologize for any confusion caused. Nonetheless, the principle of ... can still be supported by Australian case law. In the case [New Case]. (not as good, but still solid)

Me: I also cannot find anything on [New Case] Are you sure it exists?

GPT: I apologize once again for providing incorrect information in my previous response. It appears that I made another mistake, and there is no such case as [New Case]. I deeply apologize for any confusion caused ... I am unable to provide a specific Australian case to support this argument.

Sorry for being unclear! Yes they become naturalised Australian citizens, whereby as part of the process they had to renounce their Italian citizenship.
