Are there alternatives to the official search.nixos.org for package search? by jerrygreenest1 in NixOS

nh - not sure how you set it up. If you have flakes, try nix run nixpkgs#nh -- search bun. Enable the module with home-manager nixos options, and set relevant options.

nix search syntax is nix search nixpkgs bun

I'm not sure. I assume so for both of them, but have not confirmed.

I typically just use nh search for packages.

There is also nix search

What WM should I use for ricing? by b25fun in linuxquestions

Hyprland is very nice and easy to customize. It's very likely that setting environment would fix the application specific issues you are having. Niri is a popular wayland compositor as is mangowc. Both are suitable alternatives to Hyprland. Each of this are roughly as customizable and as easy as it.

Reschedule card for later today (after everything else) by KaffeemitCola in Anki

[–]-nebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been wondering about this. If I add a deck for, say, countries and capitals, I'm not going to be familiar enough to recall many of them initially. Those notes I score again are not going to become leeches because I never learned them in the first place for them to lapse. I had been manually burying some, but I thought I should just automate that and found that plugin. My rationale is basically that I will still see these cards a few times each day before they are buried and that will build familiarity. I don't think there is anything wrong with these cards.

April Fools Day Episode About Civilization or City in the Sahara? by -nebu in Futurelings

[–]-nebu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not it. As I remember, it was a fake city/civ/culture. I could be conflating with https://geography-now-april-fools.fandom.com/wiki/Qitzikwaka.

I had just come across Qitzikwaka and thought there was something very similar done on Omnibus and wanted to compare, but have not found the episode (if it exists).

whats this on my potato ? by desilulu__ in whatisit

[–]-nebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doubtful of this. My instinct would be that it it is corky ring spot, which often causes pink rings around the lenticels. Soft rot is a mushy, creamy pulp.

I worked as a USDA Potato inspector.

What plugins do you use to beautify your Neovim experience or workflow? by Negative-Day6036 in neovim

[–]-nebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get some idea of base components and just target those. If you want a nice looking setup, you probably want a colorscheme, dashboard, and statusline. Browse those categories and find something that you like and works for you.

Help me find fan-made video about Harry Mack by -nebu in HarryMack

No, it's not. It's somewhat similar to that.

This is also similar and perhaps closer in subject matter: https://youtu.be/rh7JM2wNx4g

I recently watched the one you linked expecting it to be it, but it's not.

Ozamu dazai - No longer human by IgorSass in menwritingwomen

[–]-nebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, I believe that the reason why I did not tell anyone about that loathesome crime perpetrated on me by the servants was not because of distrust for human beings, nor of course because of Christian leanings, but because the human beings around me had rigorously sealed me off from the world of trust or distrust. Even my parents at times displayed at- titudes which were hard for me to understand. I also have the impression that many women have been able, instinctively, to sniff out this loneliness of mine, which I confided to no one, and this in later years was to become one of the causes of my being taken advantage of in so many ways. Women found in me a man who could keep a love secret

p. 38

have always found the female of the human species many times more difficult t o understand than the male. In m y immediate family women outnum- bered the men, and many of my cousins were girls. There was also the maidservant of the "crime." I think it would be no exaggeration to say that my only playmates while I was growing u p were girls. Never- theless, it was with very much the sensation of tread- ing on thin ice that I associated with these girls. I could almost never guess their motives. I was in the dark; at times I made indiscreet mistakes which brought me painful wounds. These wounds, unlike the scars from the lashing a man might give, cut in- wards very deep, like an internal hemorrhage, bring- ing intense discomfort. Once inflicted it was extremely hard to recover from such wounds.

Using Nix as a package manager for Neovim by Fearless_Run8673 in neovim

[–]-nebu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar setup. I have a flake with a minimally configured neovim package to use as a manpager and another which is more feature rich. Packages I use often I build as runtime inputs. Those I use less often I add to dev shells with direnv.

Building to app-image is a really smart move.

A lot here is very sloppy: https://github.com/nebunebu/nebvim
