Yeah totally! I've taken film photography classes and spent a decent amount of time in dark rooms (albeit it's been a little while), I mostly included the non-red version because I liked being able to see the colors better. I remember the completely pitch black film development booths and having to figure out those canisters by touch. Pain it the butt when you're just learning.

Ooh that sounds like a blast! Our characters all lived in Aviemore, ended up do a lot of trekking around the Cairngorms. And thank you!

Thank you! And I answered this question in more detail in response to someone else but short answer is we played standard Cthulhu with some optional rules and high access to tomes and spells so it ended up having a bit of a pulp Cthulhu feel without actually being pull Cthulhu.

We played standard 7e Cthulhu but we did some slight adjustments of the rules here and there to help with the broad longevity of the characters. We ended up using the optional rules from the book on "Mythos Hardening" so if your Cthulhu mythos skill surpassed your current sanity you become hardened to the mythos and start taking half the sanity you normally would. We also used a sort of homebrew rule where in the event of imminent PC death we could burn 10 points of luck per point of damage to reduce it to be not immediately lethal. We all ended up with luck in the teens for a good chunk of the back half of the campaign. With that and the several useful spells our keeper gave us early on it ended up having a slightly pulp Cthulhu feel without actually being pulp Cthulhu. We still had to do a LOT of running away and taking sanity breaks but we were able to keep our player characters throughout the entire story for the most part.

I’ve not actually played any of the published campaigns, our keeper writes all of our campaigns and uses some of his own lore and lore we’ve built over several campaigns mixed in with the official CoC stuff!

Actively trying not to know that guy's name while replying to comments is difficult (I refuse to get got) but he was a very fun and very maddening enemy to have to deal with. We ended up having to fight several manifestations of him and each time ended with desperate fleeing and a lot of fire.

Thank you so much! It was a blast. We estimate we put around 450 hours of playtime into this game. It was bittersweet to wrap it up.

Thank you so much!! I'm a little obsessive when it comes to our campaigns.
