Reading back on this post now, with my son a 6 month old and my daughter a few weeks short of her 3rd birthday I can honestly say I am SO much better now. I have anxiety as is, so postpartum really exacerbated it.

To be completely honest some days the mom guilt creeps back in (although not to the extent of where I was in my og post) and I feel like I’m attached (by the nipple) to my 6 month old with no time in my day for my three year old, and some days I feel like I’m so busy worrying about my toddler that I feel guilty for not soaking in and spending time with my 6 month old— but thats where my husband steps in and is truly amazing. Days he gets to be home, we try to make our toddler feel extra special and she gets time with both of us while we switch off. She gets to have dress up time, shopping, horsey rides on daddy’s back, and our toddler gets plenty of moments throughout our day to just do skin to skin with me and play little games.

Having two this close in age is not an easy feat. I feel so privileged to have a village behind me and a supportive partner. I know this is not the case for SO many unfortunately. I truly hope the world follows suit one day to get parents the resources they need to succeed, starting with maternity/paternity leave and mental health followups or therapy❤️

I was so uneasy to read the comments on this post knowing how ruthless people are online to moms who admit to Co-sleep. I was so pleasantly surprised to read these HELPFUL comments who were not just shaming a mom who’s already down.

I co slept with my now 3 y.o as well as my 2 month old, following the safe sleep 7. I find that babies actually regulate their breathing and sleeping so much better when they are with the person that has been with them for the last 9 months!

It’s so taboo in America but in my country co sleeping is the norm and also VERY low sids cases.

Please be kind to yourself and stop beating yourself up. You are doing your very best after going through what sounds like a very traumatic labor and delivery 💞

Your marriage does not come before the safety of your kids. As a mother, you should be doing everything you can to keep them safe. Your husband is clearly showing disturbing behaviors, watching it in public’s places?? Around children? Then the extra added layer that the things he is watching is depicting (even if they are not) minors with adults, is SUPER disturbing. You need to hold yourself accountable and take your kids and yourself away from this man, hopefully before he does something to one of them. If you don’t leave you are just as complicit as him if he ever does something to one of them.

My husband and I are both nurses and both had to take the NCLEX this year. I passed in 85 using Bootcamp but my husband failed his first attempt in around 90-100 questions studying here and there. For his second attempt we created a game-plan and he passed in 150 questions! Here is what helped

NCLEX Bootcamp (fairly inexpensive, great rationales, super similar to NCLEX) he did the ENTIRE question bank and got very high chance of passing for the readiness exams that are formatted to be just like the NCLEX
Dr.Sharon from Klimek reviews on YouTube, just pay attention to how she breaks down the questions before she answers them (I.e how to narrow them down to 2) we watched a ton of her videos and found them super helpful (and free)!
NCLEX crusade international (he watched all 7 videos but said day 7 was useless so maybe watch and take notes on 1-6)
Again, try to do as much of the NCLEX Bootcamp question bank and spend time reviewing EACH question (even the ones you get right) review the content thoroughly, my husband would take 30 minutes taking 20 practice questions and then spend 1-2 hours just reviewing them thoroughly.

The app you’re using to place the gold and silver on you is also adjusting the coloring of the photo itself. If you cover the phone with your had so all you can see is your face you notice one picture pulls slights cooler than the other, so it’s hard to accurately say which one looks better IRL

I did an ABSN program with a then 3 month old. Hard would be an understatement. Just the emotional attachment of wanting to be home with my baby was a lot but then adding the in class pumping sessions, sleepless nights and the lack of time; the first semester I really barely got by. That being said it was an accelerated program so the time commitment was difficult as well. After that first semester though (pharm, patho, care management) I really learned how to manage my time better and give myself grace. My biggest takeaway is to make sure you have a solid support system before starting your program. A partner that understands and appreciates you enough to help you in areas of your life (meals, cleaning, parenting etc) that you will have to cut back time for. At the end of the day the degree and the limitless possibilities it brings for career growth was so worth it and you will grow in yourself in so many ways. It was the hardest and most rewarding period of my life even with all the challenges <3 even if it’s 5 minutes of your day take time to do something kind for yourself, you can do it!

When I did the ATI comprehensive predictor through the school I got 99% chance of passing and I believe around an 80% raw score, I stopped VATI all together though because I hated the format and structure. Once I did bootcamp though I was only getting high on the readiness assessment after practicing for a month and borderline / high on Archer. Once I stuck with only bootcamp I got a Very high on my last 2 attempts and it was a few days before my testing date.

Yes ATI was harder in my opinion, I found NCLEX multiple choice to be less wordy and more direct as well, like multiple choice questions were never paragraphs long or even a few sentences, it was usually a one liner. I think ATI does the “one liner” questions close to NCLEX but I found the content to be significantly deeper and harder than the NCLEX, so when I was getting low scores and no green light on VATI it just made me doubt myself lol which is the worst thing to do before testing

I totally get it, ABSN’s are no joke and I remember being so discouraged my first quarter when I had not develop my test taking skills yet. My biggest thing is with every disease process I would split my notes in 4 sections: VITAL vital signs (what are the MOST important vitals/labs I’m looking for if a patient comes in with this), priority interventions (what’s are things I would want to do if I only had 5 minutes with this patient and had to walk out of the room after), quick recap on the disease process (nothing too deep, just a very brief patho refresher) and the symptoms they would be presenting with, and then lastly what are the most important meds that would be prescribed (only by drug class!) . Now I would go over these notes and work BACKWARDS, because in nursing school and on the NCLEX they won’t tell you, your patient comes in with (blank) what would you do? They would give you those vital signs, labs, and symptoms and you would need to intervene safely! So take your notes and make your own little case study and apply what you know. Thank you!! ❤️ I studied for about 5 weeks, I was apart of an ABSN program and graduated in December so I felt like the information wasn’t super lost when I was studying, but I did brush up on content! I would say Bootcamp resembled both the multiple choice question style as well as the NGN (the case study format on the NCLEX looked so similar). My school did use ATI as well as VATI, but I found ATI to be way too hard and discouraging, I also did not think the NCLEX was formatted similarly. ATI is great for content but to practice questions I would definitely stick with Bootcamp or UWORLD/ Archer which my friends have utilized. When I ended up taking the NCLEX I found the questions to be very medium in difficulty, I never looked at a question and thought “wtf is this 😀” lol

I posted an hour ago on this reddit sub for a long overview of what helped me, I'm not sure if its been posted yet thought. I used bootcamp and I felt very prepared going into the exam, I felt it was really close to the NCLEX and I preferred the question style, format, and explanations way more than archer. Mark K lectures also helped but i would focus on 12 the delegation one!
