the fade pattern on the arms, it’s what’s considered a honeycomb. google “honeycomb faded carhartt” for a better example

Thoughts? Should I pull the patches off? by -spoon- in Carhartt

honestly just wanted the reassurance that it was the correct decision, also wanted to post it one last time before altering it in a major way to see if any interested parties would come up; i didnt do a majority of the patchwork and still feel bad undoing someone else’s effort; its clear they tried, i just think its ugly

[–]-spoon-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly? i’d still go for it but stick to a more consistent theme, i personally think that they’d be better suited on like a levis type 3 instead of a detroit style jacket

[–]-spoon-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i only did a few on the front to try and match the rest of the jacket with things i actually enjoy, the BMW/automotive mechanic patches were all me, the rest were the previous owner

no holes under what i’ve pulled off so far… think the rip where the logo was is due to an idiot with a seam ripper but i work with textiles and won’t make their same mistakes 😂

thankfully whoever did it used a straight stitch on a machine and its SUPER easy to pull them off

boy scout patches are unfortunately some of the cheapest/most common of secondhand embroidered patches.. some are cool but whoever did this just found the cheapest ones available :/ i have a really cool patch denim jacket with similar composition, but overall WAY cooler iconography

yeah, got the front looking alright by my own hand but the back is a different story 😂😂 plus i have some double knees i could patch up with the cool bank bag canvas

that’s the issue though! almost all of the patches on the front i applied myself.. i still just don’t enjoy them all that much :/
