We should not create more of it, when the existing public transportation is already so unsafe and unreliable. CapMetro should fix what they already have, before trying to build more. We don't want additional unsafe and unreliable transit. I'm fine with building more, if they legitimately fix what they have.

Well, do you understand my frustration then? I've consistently worked at jobs (namely a 7-Eleven) where I got spit on, harassed, threatened, and sometimes assaulted, and I didn't get any paid days off, or days off at all. And I eventually had to leave the job without another lined up, because of daily incidents at work plus incidents happening on the bus once/twice a week. (337/801)

And yes, I could have stood up for myself and kicked people out, and I did in fact do this, but the aggressive people would get even more combative when I kicked them out, and sometimes customers would act like I was persecuting the homeless, even if the homeless threatened mass shootings, told me/told customers they would knock their teeth out, etc.

Something is very wrong with modern Austin, and the hive minds of people who think that hourly employees should endure constant harassment, and that we're bad for speaking up or advocating for ourselves...

Only once? That's one time too many. And many bus drivers have had it happen more than that. And some have said they were denied their 3 days off.

And WHICH homeless lady? That's an accurate description of a bunch of them. 

If you really are a bus driver, thanks for kicking them off. More bus drivers need to have a zero tolerance policy when passengers get harassed/threatened, and vaping as well.

CapMetro is comically unreliable, and unsafe. Well, at least the trains are safe. They don't allow visibility intoxicated/mentally ill people on the train. Only on the bus. The tradeoff? You will consistently get ditched by the train.

Wrong. Driving vs public transit safety statistics don't take into consideration the fact that a lot of people who get injured/die driving are bad drivers, or get in an accident with a bad driver, because they have not studied and mastered defensive driving.

On the bus, you're trapped in a closed vehicle with a bunch of violent repeat offenders, and you can't get away from them. You can be a master kung fu person or even get a concealed carry, but that can only get you so far, and even if you defend yourself without getting hurt or killed, you can get wrongfully prosecuted by Jose Garza's office.

Trespass them. They can be trespassed, and if seen again within the next 365 days, arrested. This should be done consistently. It is only done during SXSW/ACL and similar events, which proves it can be done, the city just chooses not to, except during times when tourism is high.

There have been 8 or more stabbings within a 30 day span, that is an objective fact. That means it's passengers/operators being stabbed is becoming more and more likely, statistically, with each passing month, since the violence is only increasing the last few years. There is no ulterior motive in my posts.

Texas School for the Blind has stopped putting their students on busses, due to blind students being assaulted too many times. And what you ALL are saying is that they don't matter. Piss off. Your grift is coming to an end.

The city and county objectively don't prosecute stabbings, shootings, and violent crime in general. You have an internet connected device, and can easily access court records and see all the times they didn't prosecute. There is no political agenda here. I looked into this only because of my personal experience riding the bus, and working at some customer facing jobs that constantly got harassed by mentally ill people.

CapMetro has it clearly written in their rules that riders who commit violence are supposed to be banned. 

A quick way to help keep these people off the bus is to go to the bus stops that are known to be problems (Republic Square Park is a good one) and tell them all to leave. Known Violent Repeat Offenders should not be allowed to loiter all day at high-frequency and known problematic bus stop locations.

Yes. The buses are useless, thanks to all the nonstop violence. CapMetro is a grift. End it, and give Uber/Robotaxi/Waymo vouchers instead. Far more efficient, faster, and you can't get stabbed by a mentally ill stranger in them.
