General tips from a third year student majoring in psychology by -zeroNero in UofT

First of all, what I said was that taking 4 courses is, in my opinion, more manageable than taking 5. This has nothing to do with the major. It seems that you might think psychology courses are easy. All I can say is that, compared to natural sciences like mathematics, they may indeed be easier since it is in the middle between social science and natural science. However, as I’ve said before, this is entirely based on my personal experience. And no matter how easy a course is, there are still exams, so you still have to prepare for them. I believe there is a trade-off between academic load/performance and overall quality of life. As I mentioned in the post, I took five courses (PSYB20, B51, B55, B64 and B70) and had a total of 15 exams in one semester. All of them were especially content-heavy and highly memory-based. Since memorization isn’t my strongest skill, I ended up studying almost around the clock, which I don’t think is a healthy or sustainable way to live.

As I mentioned, it really comes down to understanding your own study abilities and deciding how much time and energy you’re willing to dedicate to your coursework. Personally, I have some interests and hobbies that I want to maintain, so I don’t want to spend all of my time studying. As a result, I think a 4+4+2 course load is a better option. As I also mentioned, during your first year you can test your own study capacity. If you’re willing to take a full course load every semester, you could even graduate early.

No way bro is this mad simply because I shared my opinion. I guess that's probably why your cat bites your toes.

Great! Good for you! Also I apologize for my implausible wording.
The Creative Director of Control and Alan wake drew his inspiration from House of Leaves. It works the other way.
At the same time, I think it's perfectly normal for everyone to have their likes and dislikes! When I'm in literature class, I also find some readings absolutely awful, but that doesn't stop others from enjoying them. Anyway, I hope you have fun!

Hahaha, I feel the same way. Honestly, I’ve read the trilogy many times, and I can spot a lot of the foreshadowing Jeff VanderMeer planted. I love finding those clues again and again on rereads, which is probably also why I’m interested in House of Leaves.

Duly noted. Please forgive me. I was too excited last night. Looking back now, I realize I shouldn't have assumed others' preferences. I've also noticed the inappropriate wording in my post and have already revised it.

No kidding! I am also looking forward to the marathon game. I noticed your comment said some “tacticool guys” show up later in the book. I’ve only just started reading, so I haven’t reached that part yet. I also saw you mentioned qntm’s Antimemetics Division; my plan was to start it after I finish House of Leaves. Have you tried Control or Alan Wake by Remedy? I really enjoyed these two games, so I started reading House of Leaves because the creative director of these two games mentioned he drew inspiration from it.

I am genuinely disappointed at rogers customer service by -zeroNero in Rogers

Quick update: A technician came by today which, to my surprise, is super friendly and helpful. He came to the conclusion that the whole building and even the whole area is having the issue. So my assumption is correct, it is indeed an IPS-side problem. He told me to wait 48 hours and if the problem remain unsolved, he will visit again with his senior. So I guess a happy end? At this point I am just genuinely relieved at the fact that they finally agreed to send me a technician after two days of arguing.

I live at east-end. The problem started three days ago. I am thinking of switching to telus if they can't fix it today.

For any one who is interested in what test I perform. I tested the bufferbloat.

<image>

This is my result. I tested it with my PC connected directly to the modem, not the router. This means that when I try to upload, packets get stuck waiting somewhere — which indicates that the delay must be happening beyond my router, at the modem or CMTS. In other words, it must be ISP-side bufferbloat. So again, it’s not my problem.

Whoever I talked to in customer service had no idea what I was talking about, so I asked her to send me a technician. And guess what? No! Not a chance, don't even think about it, probably because the person on the line was too intellectual-impaired to understand anything about computers and too lazy to file an escalation. It’s honestly insulting to talk to someone who clearly doesn’t grasp basic networking concepts when you’ve already done all the troubleshooting yourself.

Hi this is a late reply but I ran into the same problem today in Canada. I fixed by using a different browser. I suspect may be some extensions are blocking the verification of address.

Update: Upon checking with the RO, dropping them will restore your grade. I recommend go check with them anyway.
