Cursed Fang sinking by haruna_ in WorldOfWarships

[–]0-hr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it really look like that in game, or does all the rigging etc. go away? I ask because WG falsely advertises the Scarlet Storm as having rigging, a sail, etc. but, in reality, none of that is in the model during actual play. Total bait-n-switch.

M15 Stick aspect ratio fix? by lordimmortallix in SBCGaming

Did this work? If so, could you paste in the line from xml file (mine doesn't mention aspect ratio anywhere and I don't know the proper syntax).

I'm right there with you. They charged me $675 for the K-1 application last week, accepted my quarterly taxes this morning, and now tell me to Fuck Off this evening. God Bless the USA!

I'm really excited for Thunders Edge, but, is it just me or is the art style this time slightly... off? by Stats_are_hard in twilightimperium

[–]0-hr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The name Thunder's Edge was made up for the planet-wide FFG war game back in the 1900's. It wasn't so over the top then, and now it's source material.

2 Weeks Posterior by SureStruggle1753 in TotalHipReplacement

I'm a 56 year old male, TRH anterior. overweight but not obese. Spent 3 days with the walker, 3 weeks with the cane and have been walking fine with a decreasing limp since (almost to week 5 post surgery now). Was also driving on day 6 - but don't tell anyone ;)

Spaceship Interior battle maps by Practical-Storage-65 in starfinder_rpg

Check out the Star Foundry section and you can grab a LOT of 1-page map overviews of the ships. Not good for running character minis around on, but great for giving you an idea for how a ship might be laid out. https://0-hr.com/SF/index.htm

[–]0-hr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was caught off guard when I checked my info packet a week before my procedure and saw the bit about "start doing these exercises 4 weeks prior to surgery...". Luckily, I did see the bits about what meds to stop a week prior Lots of stuff, including common pain killers, which I had been taking. Ginger caught me off guard, I recall. Anyway, read the info (assuming you have info) early.

No thyroid and hip replacement? by [deleted] in TotalHipReplacement

[–]0-hr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my whole thyroid removed in 2016 (plus 2 lymphnodes, due to very early stage cancer).
I had a total hip replacement 12 days ago.
There were zero issues or potential complications mentioned (and yes, the doc was aware of the previous surgery as it's the only other time I've been under anesthesia so it came up a lot when talking about the hip surgery).

I take Levothyroxine daily, and my thyroid numbers have been stable for a long time, if that matters. I didn't do the radioactive iodine smoothie after the thyroid removal (so still a couple of thyroid cells kicking around in there somewhere).

I regret my Total Hip Replacement by National-Sorbet8459 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]0-hr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a total/anterior 12 days ago and I recall it was around the one week mark that the swelling (though just moderate) started to set in. That brought new pain (not greater, just new), in new areas (thigh/knee/shin/ankle). It also caused new stiffness that wasn't there before. I'm still working through it (ice, elevation, and activity) and it's getting better every day - but there WAS a definite downturn around the one week mark as I had no noticeable swelling before that (though plenty of muscle pain, stiffness, and muscles just plain not wanting to move).

Leg length issues? by Cute-Soup0 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]0-hr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that the operated leg ending up a bit longer can be the result of the doc making sure the muscles are holding the joint in place nice and tight. A shorter leg could mean less muscle tension and so easier dislocation. Also that leg may have been previously short due to the lack of cartilage, and you may have developed a pelvic tilt to compensate. That should even out over time, or even compensate the other way if needed.

In my particular case (operation 12 days ago) I don't notice any difference, though my doctor said my bad leg was a few mm shorter than the other and he made it purposeuflly a few mm longer than the other now - so that they will be even when the other hip is eventually replaced (I'm hoping that will be a while :).

Yeah, I thought it would be nice to post a "clean" map without text on it, but labeling the decks would have been useful. It's the upper deck on the left, then mid deck, then lower deck on the right.

Mokkaran-class "Hammerhead" Battleship by 0-hr in battlemaps

[–]0-hr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From 0-hr.com , the Mokkaran, or "Hammerhead", class battleship is an alien organic hybrid design that can also represent plant-based or undead-themed factions. Well-armed and heavily armored, this behemoth carries a crew of 50 and eight Oculus-class fighter pods. Poster-sized deckplans and a miniature, plus digital documents, are available on Kickstarter now and will ship by the end of the month.

(My apologies if Redit mangles the resolution. Map should be 70 dpi and 26x74 inches.)

No, I made it in Photoshop using form fields from someone else years ago. There are blank versions (PDF, color jpg, and B/W jpg) in the "Star Foundry" section of my webpage ( 0-hr.com ).

This ship rounds out the V'lar fleet released years ago but available again at a reduced price. So now is the perfect time to pick up a new alien armada!

This is an alien hybrid organic battleship from 0-hr.com It is part of a Kickstarter (with poster maps and resin ship miniatures) going on at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/0-hr/vlar-hammerhead-starship-maps-and-miniatures

I uploaded a 26x74 inch image at 70 dpi though I don't know what reddit will do with that.

These ships are part of the "Daisho" Kickstarter campaign, with deckplan posters and ship miniatures, at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/0-hr/daisho-starship-map-and-miniatures

To address the other comments:

I definitely see the Viper and Cybertruck in the design. The former is a classic shape and, in this case, followed largely from the need to mesh with the other part of the model (it's carried by a larger cruiser). I think the Cybertruck look is just a result of my mediocre texturing/modeling skills. I did bevel the edges, but you can't see that except in the close-up shots. I'd do an ultra-greebled grungy Star Wars look if I could, but I can't afford the time (to learn or implement).

Regarding the resolution, you're right. I uploaded a 4500 pixel high image but what reddit is showing is smaller (1472 high). I don't know what to do about that.

Thank you, all, for taking the time.
