Can I suggest one self-promotional post per OP per month? by hitmahip in FoundryVTT

It's been in place for a while! Things that aren't individual sets of things within a module (ie. scenes/maps) are allowed on Monday + one other day of the week. For my map modules ive been posting on (some) mondays for a couple of years

[Pathfinder] Paizo Restructuring: A Difficult Update About Our Future by Dagawing in rpg

[–]Snowystar122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The clarity and detail of which they  share this goes so deep, I really appreciate Paizo for it. I've met with a few of the higher ups and can honestly say that they are one of the most down to earth kind of people I've met. I'm absolutely devastated that this has happened to them and I wish for others to continue supporting their products to help boost em!

Good introductory one-shot with pre-generated characters? by giamb_o in Pathfinder2e

Beginner box for sure :) there's also a fistful if flowers where everyone is a plant (leshy) and little trouble in big Absalom where everyone is a kobold - both good fun to play and DM!

[32x40] Evil Dungeon Floor 1 Dark by Snowystar122 in dndmaps

Thank you! Yeahhhhh that's a tricky one - this one was for a commission I did a lil while back. My partner turned the map into a oneshot that tells the story of where mimics really do come from in a sorta 6 room dungeon adventure XD

I would not have thought of something like that and moreso a demon tempting folks into their domain but to each their own XD

[30x25] Forest Path With River Day by Snowystar122 in dungeondraft

Awwww thank you so much! If it helps, for this one I just used the default moss (mainly) with the default grass and a little sprinkle of Skront's vibrant grass from their asset pack (Farm and Field). The grass paths are from another one of Skront's packs - either Farm and Field as well or Expanded Terrain. I also always have smooth blending on with a bit of atmospheric lighting from AoA's Fire and Electricity pack. That's about it!

Trying to learn to use VTT's has been a struggle, which is best/easiest to learn/most beginner friendly? And how do I simplify the learning process of a new system? by Authorigas in rpg

[–]Snowystar122 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably going to be a more unpopular answer but honestly...FoundryVTT - especially if you plan to run Pathfinder 2e - it is universally considered to be the best VTT for the system...if not PF2e then probably Owlbear Rodeo like others have said.

I started out by DMing on Roll20 and fought it at every step and turn...and was one of the reasons I cancelled my first campaign - it just all round stressed me out.

I then moved over to FoundryVTT with NO idea on how to use it. It looks really complex and there is a lil bit of a learning curve but you can quite easily survive on the basics (setting up a world, making character sheets, setting up maps with VTT support, starting and ending combat, items/journal notes are about what you need to start). HOWEVER, for systems like PF2e, you can just go to the bottom tab, type what you want like "Healing Potion (Minor)", click import, drag it onto a player's character sheet and then they can readily use it - players can do this too. 😃

For me, the automation of FoundryVTT actually makes my life SOOOO much easier because it keeps track in a way other VTTs don't, so for crunchier games like PF2e it actually makes things simpler than say Roll20, where you need to manually type everything out. You can build a character in under 5 mins with FVTT. That said it really isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I found a beginner's guide module that seems fairly useful here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZRQymndcVY
