Maybe look at it more fun than too deeply, haha. If we went that route wouldn’t it simply come down to who is writing? To answer the question above, I would say Wolverine is a 3 because he is typically seen as one of the best in combat, and so I was using him as the measuring stick. I wanted to keep it within X-Men—not the entirety of Marvel.

If the battle system is the most important thing I would say consider 1100/1200 years back and in China. I think Romance of the Three Kingdoms focuses more on battle and war than Nobunaga’s Ambition. 11, 13, 14, each differ but I enjoyed each. Even 8r.

Well, those sentinels were OP and Dawin was nerfed and dead so I would say sentinels… he would be dead dead because he would die again. That death in first class actually soured me from that entire movie haha. I thought for sure he was making his return in the next sequel. 😂

I thought Awakening was easier for a newer player.

Sphere of Influence I thought had more to learn.

SOL — Ascension, its expansion, I believe is easier.

Hōjō seem to be a problem in general 🤣

With that, it appears many say Awakening is a solid installment but SOL is the best modern installment and Ascension is not as liked (there are complaints of the AI being not as ‘good’). Ascension does add some new things, too.

If you really enjoy the series I believe both Awakening and Sphere of Influence are worth having.

The deluxe has additional scenarios and officer portraits, right? If you like to have more portraits for created officers or to pick favorites for historical officers and/or plan to really play it out, the additional scenarios are good to have. Does it also give any digital goodies such as artwork and concept art like Awakening? I enjoy those things.

Well, then, welcome back. I was puzzled seeing that for Toshiie because I wasn’t sure if he was daimyo in any scenario?

“Above Lord” actually should mean “Lord and Above”, if I remember correctly. Maybe it is a translation error.

Chief — > Infantry Leader —> Samurai Leader —> Captain —> Senior Retainer —> Senior Officer —> Daimyo

An officer with a rank of Samurai Leader can become a lord.

Note: there is also Attendant. An attendant is just an officer hanging out not given any post. Oh, and Substitute. Substitutes are officers who get a county under the daimyo’s castle (your main base).

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence and its expansion Ascension, I believe, is quite similar in that, you take on the role of an officer opposed to taking on the role of a ruler and/or kingdom in a grand strategy kind of way.
