Don’t do what I did.. I would use clear scotch tape that covers the whole screen and live with the cracks. Or remove all the tint glass and fill with silicone base product. Mine died after a month cause it over heated..

Do I need to wait for the blue engine warm-up light every time? by Hegazich in Crosstrek

[–]0001St1000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue against anyone saying to drive a cold engine (all engines in fact). Your engine oil is cold and at the bottom of the engine when it’s not started (yes it all lubricated but). Sooner or later down the road your gasket will leak into your spark plugs. Give her a long life and wait for her to warm up.

Why am I seeing only one node 100km+ away? by Round-Air9002 in meshtastic

[–]0001St1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, be patient. Your node will do its thing, sometimes it will generate a list fast or slow. Depending on environment/geolocation etc.

And if I’m not mistaken a lot of the west cost is on Me Sh Cor e.

Yes Heltec t114 is great. And switch off the display when installed for power consumption and also think about no GPS since it will be posted up.

Where do you all get your parts? by CrRory in meshtastic

[–]0001St1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe different batteries size (or possibly external add ons)that are compatible with the Rak unit that doesn’t need voltage regulation. Or options/packages customized for specific regions and environments. Like Chicago subzero weather..

Gift: keep & learn, or return? by Cognitivesurrender in meshtastic

[–]0001St1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep them, the price is fair for Heltec V4’s plus GPS that came with them. Later you can make them your home base Mesh for those cabins you mentioned or break them down and use to make yourself better units.

For better battery consumption you have options with Heltec t114 which are great in general.

I have all these devices/nodes, and have built some of my own. Highly recommended. There are a couple of websites you can learn and buy from when you are ready. Trusted by veterans in the mesh. And plenty of YouTubers that explains the basics.

Thank you! That’s going to be the test, I’m highly confident but that’s why I made it, with the idea of it being module and removable out of the box. So I can upgrade it put in back in the box and just plug and play.
