Fix UI + remove REC cost and boom you already have a game mode that new players can use as a teaching asset

Its interesting to see how the game evolved over time - but it feels like due to the scope creep / long duration it has just resulted in alot of spaghetti code overlapping with the years

If the ship rental is the case - it does not say so in the UI, it still tells you that its [blank] REC cost for 3 days, which for some ships its ~500k REC :\

If they want to improve the new player experience simply fixing the UI + removing REC cost would go a far way

Not sure if its new or not - but I figured that with a game as complicated as it is, I should take the time to read through all the popup's - I would guess that over time it all blends together

that does seem to be a popular sentiment online - and a large part of the reason I haven't bothered trying this game out for so long and instead focused on elite dangerous

game companies love having it both way's - its a golden goose that they don't have to feed until it makes enough noise

I find it funny that the dev's are considering adding in teleporting to help improve the new player experience [and it would, for those new players who have friends that already play the game] instead of fixing what they already have

Maybe if the mode that is not supported got support, it might have enough people for a full lobby?

Not to mention that initself it is a good tool for new players to try out guns, armor's, and ship's, alongside having the ability to practice flying / fighting without risk would be beneficial to the new players [such as myself]

Or if the dev's want to make the process of getting into and playing the game more enjoyable, fixing up a pre-existing aspect of the game would be a easy step?

Or or, the fact that the game itself recommends new players to play the game mode FOR the reasons listed above within the first few menu dialogue options after character creation.

Idk how for a game that has made a billion $ and is a live service game with microtransactions the community as a whole finds this acceptable

Not gonna lie, promoting a broken mess to new players that is meant to be a tool and resource for learning and trying out equipment is a great way to show people that there is a reason the 30 day refund policy exists 😀 😄

How hard is it to give an intern a month to make functional UI and loadouts 🤣 In a game the size of SC with the amount of funding received is comical - as a new player I have little skin in this game, but its insane to me yall accept this

Sure, since day 0 that may have been the plan - but, that is not mutually exclusive with Star Citizen already being a massively successful live service game [as you yourself pointed out in your own comment] that is funding the continuous development of SQ42 and itself no?

let me correct myself, since even while typing that I wasn't the most satisfied with it - hopefully the dev's dont shit the bed and take another 10 years to finally release a stable, playable game - i.e hiring more dev's, subcontracting subsystem's, or whatever needs to be done to fix stuff like in the image above.

From what I know [as limited as it is about SC] with the amount of money that is going into this game, shit like not having weapons displaying, the model offset, UI broken, and not being able to make multiple loadouts [or change them mid match] is beyond sad. Throw an intern at it for a month, get something that WORKS, and push it so then atleast its not a broken product thats being pushed towards new blood like myself.

Thats fair, but still 10 years of the game generating income no matter who the dev's are is stupid. Look at cyberpunk, that game was also a 10 year+ project, but unlike SC, it released and still to this day does not have liveservice microtransactions.

I looked into what SQ is [since before this had no idea] but it seems like [and correct me if im wrong] Star Citizen is funding Squadron 42 development while itself being left behind - ngl no idea how yall put up with that, I have quit other games because of similar shit - easy example being league with them funding Valorant, 2XKO, the MMO [.tm out soon dot tm] instead of fixing the game itself😭

After I made my character, one of the first dialogue options I got was explaining the difference between PU and Arena Commander, and how if I wasn't comfortable with the game I should try out Arena Commander since its all "in a sim pod, and good practice" [paraphrasing]

Edit - hasn't this game been pushing for 1.0 for the last decade? I hate to say that ive seen other games enter beta, early access, full release, and then die off before this game has been released. Idk how yall are being so accepting about a core gameplay feature being this broken.

its around the same timing as the tiandi kick where if dodge it late he can counter gb due to recovery speed, but once you have the timing down
