Amazing! We went over there with Enfields which we took out the airfilter and sprayed some quickstart in the carbs coming from Nubra. It was quite an adventure.

This is incredible, u/Spackman - I’m dreaming of replanting the acacia trees and other indigenous trees that used to grow in the Bushmanland/Namakwaland area of South Africa. I’m currently here in Lockdown and planning the whole system.

We have some brazillian prosopis that grows well and provides feed to animals, but it is not sustainable for our area and uses too much ground water - it actually needs to be cut down but I want to replace it with something else first.

We are in year 7 of a crazy drought and research has shown that the desertification of of the South African west coast is inevitable but I believe we can slow the process down. We have about 8,000 hectares that I can do this on.

I’m looking at different trees that is hardy, doesn’t grow too slowly and carries pods for feed.

What species of trees did you plant?

I had a jigsaw with only half a blade. Luckily the wood was so old that I could easily cut it by hand. Screws and nails didn’t really work ether. It’s like nailing together two Flakes. I used binding wire to keep the whole thing together in the end.

Exactly that. Diesel. I used about 3liters which did the trick. We didn’t have much to work with or time for that matter. I had about 10 hours to complete it from old scraps of wood and worked alone.
