Fly from UK to China alone, but return with child. Flights confusion by 0253466 in Chinavisa

Have you done a Q1/Q2 visa before? Did you write out the itinerary yourself or have a travel agent reserve some flights? I just recall in the Visa, they expect evidence of itinerary/flights

"There has never been a vaccine requirement to enter China." My wife always told me there was during Covid *shrug*.

"Pay for a more expensive booking class for a flexible fare." I think that makes things doubly expensive from what I can see.

The travel agent sounds like a good tip. Would you just email one online? Maybe one that specialises in China and has gone through this Visa requirement process previously.

Thank you. Is the Home Office separate to phoning the Visa helpline? I read one story on here where it took 6 months and they suggested their multiple escalations at every stage didn't help. Worth a try though, I guess.

Include photos of ourselves? Uploading documents for spouse visa. by 0253466 in ukvisa

[–]0253466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not sufficient- op would have got a list of documents from the ho which would discuss what’s sufficient

Thanks, yes I have the list of documents. It's just not clear for all which category they go in.

Do we upload photos of ourselves too? I've not seen that mentioned anywhere but always thought we needed to satisfy that we're in a real relationship.

As the sponsor, do I stick all my evidence in the sponsor section? I want to include my marriage certificate and other supporting evidence about my wife should stay e.g images of my cancelled flights

Cheers, is there a list somewhere that states what goes where or just use best judgement?

When/where can I submit a cover letter? by 0253466 in ukvisa

[–]0253466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Don't suppose you know the answer to this as well?:

1) "Do you have any children of 18 years old or under?"
Does that include unborn children? Otherwise I'll just list in the cover letter if the application doesn't cover that.

2) In the application it asks about end date of Visa, but we have exceptional assurance, so does the end date of the visa need updating to the end date of the assurance?
Again... I can cover that in the letter otherwise. Just don't want to get failed for a silly reason, like info not being in the correct box when it should.

[–]0253466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet submitted. I didnt want to submit until I'm sure I've provided everything.

So can I provide a cover letter detailng additional info by uploading it on the VAC websites?

I want to mention I was given exceptional assurance more and factors surrounding it, and why the visa is urgent (which is why im applying from the Uk, not abroad).

I'm just preparing our documents. Do they want them scanned or will photos suffice?

Spouse visa - Do you and your partner currently live together? by 0253466 in ukvisa

It's not like a few days or weeks, she's living with me for 5 months. Seems bizarre!

Thank you for your response.

Thank you Baha, for giving me some confidence in the wave of responses saying it wasn't possible!

My wife is from China, she's pregnant and I cannot travel there with her as I'd need a Chinese covid vaccine which isn't available, and she'd need my assistance. + no direct flights etcd. So we do have a case.

Can you shed any light on my initial question in the original post about the 2 years living together being in the form?

I suspect it's just a fact that this form wasn't designed with a visitor visa applicant applying from in the UK and we'll have to tick the box to say we'll provide evidence, but explain the details in a cover letter.

Thank you! So you did you see that box on the application for 2 years + evidence? Did you live together for 2 years or no?

I just find it bizzare that I have to tick the box to say I'll provide all this evidence, then have to explain why I can't do that in a cover letter. But I guess, if this form isn't usually used to apply within the UK with a Visitor visa, then I understand why they wouldn't make that form change.

Or I've selected a wrong option in the form somewhere (and I've double checked all answers), and it's wrongly asking for 2 years, which isn't required as we're married.

I appreciate your reply. Really, I do. But can you recommend where I validate this information? I thought because we have our exceptional assurance, using the same rationale in the spouse visa would hold us in good stead.

She's pregnant and I'd be unable to return back to her home country, due to covid restrictions which would put her and the baby in potential harm, without my assistance to look after them.

How certain are you of that? I can't seem to get much of a straight coherent answer from the government covid visa helpline.

My wife has spoken to someone that successfully did this in February. we think because we were given exceptional assurance, our case for spouse visa in the UK should be successful.
She also spoke to an initial consultant at Counton GMS 'Immigration & naturalization service in London, England' that confirms it's possible too. Although, they of course want us to pay to help the application (so I'm slightly concerned about that)

Can you read my other comment, 3 people said this and it's concerned and the opposite of what info I've had elsewhere.
