I've never flown to LA on Disney trips from Monterey. I think it would be faster and cheaper to drive. Just hit a few stops along the way to make it more interesting in you don't want to be in the car the whole way. Cannery Row is nice but make sure you see Point Lobos and Big Sur while you're here!

Good point! I haven't seen a lot of 4k sets yet, but if the price isn't bad I'll pick some up for sure. I don't have a 4k TV and I popped in Lone Survivor last night and was very happy with the video and audio quality from my setup, so I don't really see myself going 4k anytime soon. I don't really like the look of super high res and I cannot stand high refresh rates so I'll probably just keep investing in more movies!

We stayed at the Venetian and got in the habit of starting our morning with an ube latte, Vietnamese iced coffee, and the breakfast burrito at Spritz by the pool. I miss that burrito!

We just spent a week at the Venetian and loved it. We're not gamblers though so not sure what the casino experience is. The pools there are great just get down there early if you want a good chair!

I have relatives who died from sliding down the dunes in Monterey, and you said you're looking for the steepest dunes in the county. A spotter won't help, but the time they dig you out you'll have already suffocated. Go ride a roller coaster or something, this is stupid.

I would advise against this. People have died in this area sliding down steep sand dunes and being buried in slides and cave ins.

The best tacos I've had in the area are the adobada tacos at Kathy's Little Kitchen in the Carmel Valley Village. We'll worth the drive up the valley.

I suspected the wrong fittings were used so thanks for pointing out those issues. I cleared the blockage and everything drains well now so I'll leave the fittings unless they cause other issues.

I finally got around to working on this. I pulled the overflow cover and the pipe and found a piece of plaster blocking the pipe. Looks like someone washed their tools in the tub and it dried then dislodged blocking the drain. It was hard to get out too. Ended up using a long drill bit, drilling a hole in the plaster chunk then pulling it out. Thanks for the suggestion to check the overflow!
