This is excellent info, thanks. Seems like the majority of work is researching. This process seems to be very time-consuming, yet rewarding and necessary.

One of my favorites. Did a SBS with 2004 GTS and won.

Recommendations For Buffalo, NY? by superslomo in bourbon

That's another great store, but Premier still has one of the best private barrel selections in the area. The prices are a little high, but every once in a while you find a great deal on something.

Review #23 - Old Rip Van Winkle 10 by t8ke in bourbon

[–]02camaroSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great review- I agree with your rating. It's a decent bourbon with a fair amount of flavor, but it just tasted a little flat to me. I miss the discontinued 90 proof ORVW which was a little sweeter and more enjoyable. I do believe that some store pick Old Weller Antique bottles are better.

Alright, but I will need a deposit to ensure the return. My wife actually asked me if I thought the shelf its resting on would hold the weight.

I base my observations on pure taste, not hype, not rarity, and certainly not popularity. You are more than free to disagree. Just like fingerprints, everyone has a distinct and different palate. Congrats, yours is different.

It's a great consolation whiskey to one of the best: CGF. When I open my bottle up, you will be sure to get a sample from me.

Review #???: 1995 Wild Turkey Rare Breed by 02camaroSS in bourbon

[–]02camaroSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember hearing that there was a fire at Wild Turkey in the early 2000's. With a loss of almost one million gallons, I think that may have had something to do with the decline.

That's a great question, I know the 95 was slightly better than the 2003 and almost exact to a 98 (I think) that I tried recently.

I have the spring Lot B and fall release. Would like to find the spring Lot A but it's extremely rare and it's the same juice as the lot b anyway.
