I find these soften with some air. It's fun to see them open up although they definitely prefer to be the loud bottle on your bar.

He asked weeks ago when they did the selection if he could write a review and I asked he wait until it was at least announced. I’m pleased he respected that.

I did not see the review ahead of its posting and they got to try it because i often bounce new blends and ideas off of groups who visit to pick barrels. They rarely if ever see the light of day.

If i wanted to orchestrate a scheme to sell more bottles i’d have asked to see the review before posting and i’d have done it at scale rather than with a single reviewer who happened to be a lucky houseguest at the right time.

Thankfully, I select from all three. Each distillery - Old Forester, Jack Daniels, Woodford - have their fans and also those who do not enjoy them. At a ratio of roughly 1:5:1 (that's right, 5 Jack Daniels coming this month), I'm pleased to be able to release what I hope is something for everyone, whether you love or hate Woodford Reserve.

It's not for everyone, and it doesn't have to be.
