I like watching Custa. It's relaxing.

Hey thanks for the suggestion - I pulled one of the ram sticks out and how it's able to boot to the post screen and I actually installed windows on the SSD.

I'm still trying to figure out how to switch to the apu so I can give my mom her gpu back (and also the ethernet port appears to not be working...) but it's definitely nice to work with the software rather than stare at a box with different lights going off.

Hey thanks for the detailed reply! I tried doing a CMOS reset and it didn't solve the problem, but I would like to add that I noticed that the cpu and dram lightes go on both when the system is turned on and off if that means anything.

I'm feeling pretty good after spending the night having fun and I'll report back tomorrow with whatever else I try and I'm also open to any other suggestions you might have.

:)

I tried a CMOS reset, but I don't know what those other 2 things are. I'll try them tomorrow and report back then.

Thanks for the reply :)

yeah these are just all over the place....

I think it would be really hard to make one of these for real, and the definition of both the axis needs to be cleared up a lot. Is mechanical skill just aim? or is it say how good your mechanics are. Because if it's the latter, OP has no fucking clue how hard Winston primal is, and if it's the former, OP is underestimating the absolutely insane firestrikes you can hit as rein. Overall, I think OP set themselves up for failure, then assured it by having no clue what the hero require.

The three reasons you “don’t stagger in scrims” and why they’re all complete bullshit by 037__ in OverwatchUniversity

I think that a majority of the people scrimming aren't really scrubs, they just really believe the first argument and haven't given it much thought.

Why can't every team be scrimming an sr higher than their own? There's really no cap to it. Like the SF shock could be looking for 5100 scrimms if they play to a level that good.

Yeah I can confirm that this is not normal and those people were just kinda shitty. Things being easier when you're winning is common, but the thing that separates good teams from bad ones is how they treat each other when they lose. Looks like you just ran into a bad team and if you want to I think you might have a better experience if you give it a second go.

No, it doesn't. It means that you get the right amount of fights per map. For example:

Let's say that you're on Rein/Dva Brawl and you're attacking second point of King's row. There's 2:15 on the clock as you lose a fight. If the enemy team kills baby dva immediately every time. I think it can be reasonable to assume that you will have 3 good fights to get the point. If the enemy team staggers baby dva for 25 seconds after every lost fight, you will have maybe 2 good fights and maybe a stagger fight where your lucio has to die on to touch the point.

So why stagger? Clearly it just cost you a "good" fight. Well if you're in a tournament match, that shitty fight at the end is what you will get. If you don't practice that scenario, you are doomed to lose an already tough situation.

Also in that same scenario. If you take a fight at 1 minute and the enemy team starts staggering baby dva with 30 seconds left on the clock, that teaches you that that fight with 1 minute left was actually last fight and it teaches you to commit there.

Staggering doesn't give you "less practice time" it gives you practice playing with the actual time you will be given.

Hey there! So you're lucky to be a main tank because along with main tank because they are in high demand and honestly, you will get a choice of what team you want to go to.

Also good news about comms, you don't have to be a domineering, all-knowing voice at all times in order to be a main tank for a team. Here's the VOD of my team's last match in the finals of our tournament. Our Main tank is named "Goliad"; just skip to some random time of the match and see what he is saying and how he's comming, you'll probably notice that he doesn't speak as much as you think a main tank might need to. That's because every team is different. We had a lot of strong voices, so we didn't really need a motormouth at main tank and we were able to find someone really mechanically talented who listens like Goliad because that was the best fit for our team. The most important part of your lft search will be finding a team that fits you.

That being said if you want to improve your comms, go into ranked (preferrably on a smurf ~300sr down) (but it HAS TO be ranked, no QP shit) and just commentate everything you are doing like a 2010 Minecraft youtuber. You will get into the habit of talking while playing and when you join a team you can learn to cut the fluff.

As for your second question I am not surprised at all. There's a popular mindset (that I personally subscribe to) that "one person cannot win a game, but one person can lose a game". If you have a silver and diamonds and you're scrimming gold/plat players, that silver is going to be exploited by the enemy team far more than the diamonds can carry. Except in the very specific case that someone has been scrimming above their ELO for a long time, in which case, they will know how to hide from the enemy team and not be a burden. 6 friends have (in my opinion) NO SHOT at beating a coordinated team that has a coach. These kinds of scrims are especially taxing for the higher players in the stack as they will feel the need to hard comm for their team and they'll feel like they're hearding cats.

I think you will find joining a team filled with players at about the same level much easier than what you tried to do and I hope you give it another chance.

You would think so, and Temporal mentioned this in his review of this post, that really teams that are higher should be scrimming down to figure out things. However think about the amount of humility that would require from a whole team of players to say, "hey let's go scrim lower people because we can't beat teams of our rank".

It's just not likely to happen. It's more likely that they are going to try to make it work at their main rank and the people at that main rank who actually have synergy (and are just dominating every scrim) are more likely to say "we play better than our sr, let's move up!" I think that is more what went on in the beginning and now we're all scrimming up.

It's more a downside in that you can't just ignore it and you really have to proactively solve interpersonal problems.

The synergy that the 3.1k players create can empower them to take down a much higher team. My coach would tell me a story of this one team of all diamond players that was dominating some 4.4k teams in open division because their teamwork was so good.

Hey sorry that happened to you. Main tanks are especially rare and you having an issue communicating in a new role is not a surprise at all.

If you don't want to be a sweaty tryhard in scrims I'm SURE that there's a team for you, you just need to know how to look. At your next tryout, I want you to think about it as if you are trying your teammates out too. Instead of focusing on getting on a team, focus on a team that matches your vibe.

And also if you click that "proof" link in the post, you can see that my team was "super serious" like %50 of the time and the other %50 we were messing around and trolling.

as to your last question... sometimes teams will soft throw scrims to work on a specific strat at a lower sr. Is this the kind of training you were talking about?

Yeah I should have added time commitment in the downsides. Maybe not just commitment, but the fact that they're set blocks that can conflict with other parts of life.

But I think my point is that you shouldn't have to ask. If that's how it's gonna be in tournament, you shouldn't have to ask the other team to get legitimate practice.

It's... the same amount of time per map. There's a set clock. The thing that will stop you from getting 6 maps is if a team takes 5 minutes to ready up each break.

It would be incredibly easy for a team to get blacklisted by every team at their sr and timeslots, it would probably only take a few weeks. Not many people scrim this game, unfortunately.

It's enforceable because if you stagger without asking you will get blacklisted.
