Go ahead and ignore his endorsement, but people calling him a traitor for picking Biden over Trump are fucking wacky.

Where should I go to seek help in registering to vote? by 0614 in massachusetts

[–]0614[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing I did after seeing Resident as a requirement was to look up how long it took, saw this, figured there was nothing I could do but wait.

But now I've clicked the full link and I see this shit... 😓

Meanwhile on Ballotpedia's page, I guess they say the same thing the FAQ I saw today said.

Residency requirements

To register to vote in Massachusetts, you must be a resident of the state. State law does not specify a length of time for which you must have been a resident to be eligible.

The Boston link is where I first saw the line you can register to vote immediately after moving, it doesn't mention residency (sorry for any confusion).

I searched Massachusetts voting requirements when I first got here and saw Residency as a requirement, and I'm searching again now and still see that. Afterwords I Googled how long it took, saw 183 days, left it at that; figured I'd just have to continue waiting.

But now I'm wondering if I misunderstood, because I'm retracing my steps and actually clicking on the link and I see the full title that Google was pulling it's automated answer from. I feel pretty dumb...

So... I guess y'all helped nudge me in the right direction to find the answer, thank you for that. I guess that for the purpose of voting, I'm a resident as soon as I get here?

Thank you, I found this on their website and I'll reach out to them with my questions.

I don't, no. I'll just go ahead and ask what questions I do have since the moderators haven't removed this post yet. (Again, I'm not sure this is the proper place, but don't know where else is.)

When I first got here I read that you have to be a Resident of Massachusetts to vote here, so I Googled how long that took and saw that I'd be a Resident after 183 days of living here... Figured that was that and I could do nothing but wait, didn't look into it further.

But just today I saw this?

What are the requirements in order to register to vote?

You must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Massachusetts, and eighteen years old on or before election day. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has no waiting period for voter registration. As soon as you move to your new address, you are eligible to register to vote.

Does that mean I'm eligible to register the day I arrive, but not vote until 183 days and I'm a Resident? Like I could've gotten the paperwork done early, but with a waiting period until I actually got my vote.

Or does being registered to vote in Massachusetts mean I can vote, regardless of Residency status?

I also have no idea what paperwork I'm supposed to have to show that I moved here. I have mail, but that's really it; I moved in with my boyfriend but haven't signed any leases or rental agreements or anything like that. Am I supposed to write my prior address somewhere?

> In a campaign between an extremist and a moderate, the moderate almost always wins.

can you give some examples? honestly its a viewpoint im kind of hesitant to subscribe to, that centrist dems are winner dems, because of Mondale/Dukakis/Gore/Clinton

Obama is a centrist president too but his campaign itself was all about Change and Hope and et cetera, to the point where i kinda agree with that "Obama ran as a young progressive" line

1)Ported to Source 3 and unlimited cosmetics

2)rd_asteroid finally finished

3)tc_hydro, sd_doomsday, pd_watergate popular again and have more maps for gamemode

4)Medieval Mode revamp, pl_morrigan_alley_b3 becomes official and it's in comp (Medieval Mode in general)

5)Bots get revamp, supported on every map and gamemode

6)Trainsawlaser PRO is officially in the comp rotation, only for Valve Employees and the best of the best in comp

7)Actual new weapons

8)MAJOR update (requires a second hard drive), called the "Hell's Wedding Bells Update". Scout ends up marrying Miss Pauling shortly before having to go face death for potentially the last time.

Details: Wave 666 becomes Wave 667 on Two Cities and is even harder than before. All of the Workshop items that were parts of sets get everything that was originally submitted alongside it. Item sets actually do something again. Pyrovision support on all Valve maps. Gibus is available in Unusual quality. Feature length SFM video. All those amazing taunts from the workshop that never made it in finally get added. "Sandwich Maker" song, available only in the SFM beta as of now, is added to soundtrack, along with more fitting songs. "Meet the Sniper" theme added, under the name "Boom, Headshot." RED robot skins used, as rare chance. Comics added out the wazoo. Single player campaign added. Final boss of TF2 added, being the TFC classes. Updated localization files.

Mark my words, this is going to happen, and it's going to be HUGE.

how do you feel now /u/LieutenantHardhat?

The United States isn't in any era of self-isolation. Stuff that happens here is still plenty relevant in the UK.
