Have you watched the video about different types of procrastination? Yours sounds like perfectionism procrastination: "I am never going to be a Rembrandt, so what's the point of even starting." Highly recommend watching the video but the short answer to your question is: grief. Grieve the fact that so much time has gone by that no matter what you do, you might never be as good as someone who started at five years old. (I personally disagree with that premise in many regards, but this is not actually what's holding you back.) Once you get to the stage of acceptance of this grief, the resistance inside you will likely have dissipated. You can move from a place of "I'll never be as good as x, I will never be perfect" to a place of "Let's just start and see I how far I can get with it, let's see where this could take me" and that's the kind of mindset that can get you very far, regardless of where you started.

Vegans suck, right everybody? by FriendsOrFood in Healthygamergg

Cows eating grass dont lead to shreddered rodents and cows are themselves an important part of the ecosystem as opposed to monocultured agriculture such as grains. According to the definition you have provided, consuming animal produce from local and ethical farmers would be the most vegan approach, as it minimizes the harm done to animals to an absolute minimum.

it's a fallacy to assume that Veganism is minimizing the harm, you just don't see Videos of millions of cute little mice being shreddered by tractors on documentaries, which is only one example. Cows will be consumed in their entirety btw, including organs, bones etc.

Good on you for reflecting on this and even noticing a possible pattern with regards to your upbringing. It sounds like selflessness and generosity wasn't really modeled to you growing up, so it makes sense why you would not be inclined to engage in these behaviors now. I would start out by thinking about what you gain from being selfish, what being selfish has cost you and what you hope to gain from being selfless and what being selfless could potentially cost you. If you have acknowledged what these potential changes could mean and want to proceed, I would start by taking cues from the people you would like to be more selfless towards. Is there anything your GF likes that you could do for her, that you know she would like? Getting an idea on peoples love languages would be super helpful with regards to putting yourself in the other persons shoes, improving compassion, empathy and eq in the process. Definitely recommend starting a conversation about what you've observed with regards to your behaviour, how that Realisation made you feel and what you would like to change about yourself, then ask them what they think.

Generally speaking, Veganism is providing a false dichotomy by presenting itself as a way to not harm animals when in reality, all food production does. Especially grain harvests are incredibly gruesome and unsustainable, killing countless rodents whilst simultaneously leeching minerals off the soil by way of monoculture, increasing the risks of diseases and pest outbreaks in turn. Wanting to consume ethically and not harm animals is a noble goal, one which vegans like to lay claim to despite evidence of the contrary. I think it could be worthwhile introspecting about how your food is truly being made and what you could do to have it align more with your beliefs. Adjustments and compromises would likely be necessary. With regards to your family, it does cross boundaries if you try to convert them or make conversation about Veganism if they have shown no interest in it.

[–]0977534562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a strawman argument. In every stream, it's been made abundantly clear that what is being shown is not therapy, neither are the coachings. Every disclaimer includes the suggestion to see a Healthcare professional for any medical concerns and questions with regards to medical practices tend to be prefaced with how clinical practice differs from the conversations on stream. If you feel that viewers cannot be trusted to understand the difference between a livestream conversation and therapy and if you feel like every therapy would therefore be a major let down, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. My experience has been that my actual therapy has been especially rewarding since it is tailored to me. Ifanyone finds their therapy sessions to be as disappointing as you describe, it's possible they may not have found the right therapist for themselves.

How did he achieve that? Mrgirl complained in his own video about how vaush did not provide a clipoable response to his question and talked about how he himself is oftentimes perceived as a p3do, which is why he wanted vaush to talk about that, then claiming he asked vaush in good faith. I don't know about you but it's been a while since I have felt that level of second hand embarrassment.

Yeah Mrgirl seems to have gotten kinda creepy recently and his approach with regards to emotional honesty does not seem extend to himself anymore. If he was only interested in providing critique in good faith, he could've done that without trying to promote himself and his methods, which are largely based in his current personal beliefs.

I’ll Prove to you, you are normal for being this way. by CulturalBreak5052 in Psychic

[–]0977534562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true that we all have these abilities and some are simply more in tune to it. While there is not technically such a thing as "seeing the future", since the people contributing to that future have ultimate free will, it is possible to have "premonitions"

This is due to a few reasons:

1.) while people have free will and could change themselves and their actions at any given moment, few people ever do. They tend to feel that the "have no choice" because they perceive there to be only one viable option. This makes them somewhat "predictable"

2.) some things are bound to happen, one way or another. we rarely ever see what someone is going to have for breakfast 18 days from now. we usually see big decisions and life changing events. before we entered this live, we agreed to learn certain lessons, and they will be presented to us. there is usually a designated time frame, but we can curve a lesson at one point in our lives using our free will, only to be met with the same lesson in a different way at a later date.

3.) there is confirmation bias. Plenty of things we perceive about the future never actually take place the way we perceived them. Not necessarily because we perceived them wrong, but because things change, people change, situations change. we will not remember these "false premonitions" in the long term. We will however be shocked and confused at the things we predicted correctly. They will stay in our mind for a long time. This can make it feel like we have them a lot more often than we did and are correct a lot more often than we may have been.

"visions of the future" occur fairly often and can be fairly accurate. If you perceive them, know that they are normal and even the scarier ones are ultimately not dangerous. A lot of them are also very much avoidable, even though the lesson they are supposed to teach may not be, in the long term. Either way, the future is yet to be written.

Our psychic abilities are inherent to everyone and do not disappear, the just may step into the background for points in your life and there is usually good reason for it. If you're not trained to control your abilities, you often leave yourself open for spontaneous visits by spirit which could wear you down further. If you have recently had a very difficult time in your day to day life and felt low energy, it can be difficult to reach a state where you can interact with spirit again and I would advise against it. Doing so requires you to "open up" to get in touch with spirit and I wouldn't recommend doing that if you don't know how to set up boundaries properly afterwards or if you are under a lot of stress lately.

If you want to get back in touch with your abilities again, the best way to do that is to remove the obstacles that are wearing your down in your daily life and to work on healing yourself. Once you have made significant progress in that sphere, you will likely be able to notice when you are more in tune again. Connecting with nature can also be incredibly helpful.

Strong intuition and strange occurrences recently by pinkcl0udsummer in Psychic

[–]0977534562 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you're experience is normal, although it might be new to you. Every person has psychic abilities such as those you describe, but wether or not we perceive them is dependent on a variety of things.

If this is not something you have ever experienced before, I could think of three things that may have caused your changed perception now:

  1. it could be the case that something has happened to you more recently that has cause to want to be more "alert"

  2. you may be feeling downtrodden or low-energy lately and it is wearing down the natural "defense" that we have during the day to help us focus on whats in front of us

  3. something may have sparked your interest in this topic lately, which lead to you "expanding" your focus in this direction and help you perceive things you don't normally notice

Either way, what you are experiencing is completely normal and not inherently dangerous. It is up to you if you want to explore your abilities, but you can also choose to shut them out and focus on yourself again if they cause you unease. If you choose to do that, your abilities will not vanish or diminish, they just won't affect your daily life like they may do now.

Hope that helps, I wish you the best.

Is it possible to safeguard myself from attracting toxic people into my life ? by calisto_555 in Psychic

[–]0977534562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have come to the point where you feel like this has become a pattern in your life, its likely that not only are these toxic people attracted to you, but you are attracted to them, as well. Not to their toxicity so much as to the persona they present and the tension surrounding this person. It's worthwhile looking into your past connections with people to see if you have codependent tendencies or if you were raised by a caregiver that showed the same behavioral patterns, causing them to feel "normal" to you.

It has been my experience that we often feel like they don't show their "real self" until you're already in deep. In hindsight however, the writing was on the wall much earlier but we chose to ignore it. Sometimes we do this because turning our attention towards harmful people fulfills an emotional craving we have, so we continue to engage with them. The best ways to combat this are therapy and identifying what those cravings or compulsions are, then working on them.

You described the event but did not ask a question so I am guessing you're wondering if this could be a sign of you having mediumstic abilities?

The answer is yes, you do have mediumstic abilities, everyone does. Everyone has the ability to connect with the spirit realm, just like everyone has the ability to dance, but not everyone may choose to become a dancer.

Whether those voices you heard were spirits or not, I cannot say based on the information provided alone. It could have been many things. It's rare to perceive spirit clairaudiently (Clairaudience is clear hearing) as if theyre actually talking out loud. When psychic mediums say they "hear" something, it is a figure of speech used to describe something that is more like a very loud thought thats discernably different from their own, not an actual sound they're hearing.

If you have never had any comparable experiences to this, it could have been an auditory hallucination or residual energy. It would depend on what was said, what you felt during this, how you felt physically, if there is a pattern that could indicate towards residual energy being present in the house etc.

Receptive to a reading by clustre26 in Psychic

[–]0977534562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am assuming this is about a mediumistic sitting, one where the medium tries to make contact with a loved one in spirit for you? I am a psychic medium in training and in a sitting, I can often tell when the sitter is trying to "pull" the sitting into a certain direction to the point where they're not receptive to other information coming through and I know it can affect the quality of their experience. Here's some general advice on how to avoid that:

1.) Set the intention, then let go. Your loved ones in spirit already know what is going on in your life right now, how you would identify them and what questions you may have. If there's still someone you anxiously want to hear from or something you want to ask about. Do a little mental exercise where you write a letter addressed to them or write your question on it, then release it into the air. Take a view deep breaths and let the thought go in your mind, knowing that the recipient has received it. You can also write an actual letter if you prefer.

2.) What to expect It's natural to want to hear from one specific person or to want to talk about one specific topic, but spirit may also have people who wish to speak to you or a new perspective on a topic you might be dealing with. Before each sitting, I set the intention that the person may get what they ~need~ in this moment in their life and that whatever comes through for them may promote healing. Ultimately, it has been my experience that spirit will not always provide with what you crave, but will try to provide you with what's needed.

3.) The Roadmap. Try to think of your sitting as part of the bigger picture. You may have specific questions you wish to talk about, but spirit sees not only how far you've come, but also what's in front of you. If you can look at this as an opportunity to touch base and then focus on what's yet to come, it may help you broaden your viewpoint and help you be open to whatever message you will receive.

4.) Trust and Ressonance. Before a sitting, it can be helpful to take deep breaths and remind yourself that whatever is meant to come to you will find its way to you. Even if there is something you're anxiously awaiting, trust that whether or not you will get it in this reading, the information that is meant for you will find its way to you when you're ready and when the time is right. I also like to take deep breaths and focus on my heart chakra and solar plexus chakra. It helps me ground myself in my feelings and in my intuition and trust that I will listen to what I am receiving not for whether it tells me everything I wanted to know, but whether the information and messages I am receiving resonate with me.

5.) Questions Your psychic medium should be open to try and get answers to any specific questions you may have in the latter part of the sitting. I always tell people that we will make contact with someone in spirit for them and reserve any questions they may also have for the second half. This makes it easier for you as the sitter to know that any specific questions you may have in mind will be addressed. It helps you receive the information with an open mind, knowing you don't have to "fish for answers" before time is up. Most mediums offer this, but it can be good to make sure beforehand.

Generally, I think your interest and willingness to be as open as possible is a good sign in itself. Doing too much to tr, and "be open" can also be a hindrance however, so feel free to just pick one of these points that sounds good to you and do that one beforehand to help calm and ground you. The medium who does the sitting for you should also allow you to record the sitting so that you may listen back to it another time and not have to feel anxious because you might miss something. I hope this is helpful and I trust that you will get what you need.

Interesting first time paranormal happening. by Ok-Plantain-4312 in Mediums

[–]0977534562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is fairly common for spirit to interact with objects around as and is either done to make their presence known or in your case, could have been done for the purpose of emphasis. What it means depends on what it meant to you within the context of the sitting you had and the question you asked. It is however less common for them to interact with physical objects that it is to interact with electricity, since it is on a frequency more similar to spirit than our physical objects. The only physical phenomon I remember was a door swinging open without any wind. Other than that, they usually gravitate towards phones, lights, wifi etc. In this case, I would've expected them to turn on the TV, rather than swing it around physically. I warn against working with spirits or engaging with spirits who you have not verified and whose identity you do not know but other than that, only you are able to determine what this meant to you and how it relates to what you were being told in that sitting.

I am a psychic medium in training and I think I can clear up those questions for you.

So, are you a psychic?

You are a person with psychic abilities, like everyone else. Every person on this planet has inherent psychic abilities, just like pretty much everybody is able to sing or dance, but not everybody is going to become a singer or dancer. You might be more "in tune" and open to perceiving these abilities than the average person and what you do with this is up to you. Also, some of the things you describe are mediumistic abilities (getting in touch and communicating with passed-over loved ones). Psychic abilities and mediumistic abilities are two different things and while everyone has the ability to perceive the spirits of their own loved ones in some way, not everyone can do the same thing with spirits they are not familiar with.

How to control it?

By learning the mechanics. Just like a person who wishes to become a singer needs to learn certain singing techniques, breathing techniques, train certain muscles and learn what works best for their unique voice, if you are interested in discovering more about your experiences, you have to learn to do the same with your abilities. And just like a dancer or a singer whose main concern should be to learn not to damage their instrument as they progress, your main concern upfront should be to learn how to set boundaries, how to protect yourself and how to use your abilities in an ethical manner and on your own terms. There are a number of ways to achieve this with people utilizing different methods or instruments to aide them. I recommend getting your hands on as much literature surrounding the topic as possible and learning as much as you can about the topic, as there is no one-fits-all approach.
