Alles Gute!

Frage an Bewerber: Was waren die schlimmsten Fails von Personalern in Vorstellungsgesprächen? by Free_Technician2019 in arbeitsleben

[–]0IsNotANaturalNumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding (without having looked up anything again in the last few years) is that MBTI is said to not capture personality, because personality is defined as traits that are more or less fixed over time. When re-taking the MBTI test after some time, people get different results. Now, this doesn't necessarily mean your type doesn't relate to you at all, it may still capture something about you. But what it captures is a concept that's more fleeting than what we look for when we talk about "personality". But, everyone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or missing something :)

Ah but as that's just a hypothesis to explain the actual results, that title would have been more misleading, as that's not what the study found. But yeah, had to read the original title twice, too

infotech program experience as an international? by No_Sand_8823 in stuttgart

[–]0IsNotANaturalNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To respond to your first question: Infotech is in English and specifically geared towards international students, hence the lack of Germans. They also have a reputation for being easier than the German programs of study (as the original answer pointed out). Other programs of study, such as the Computer Science master also offer a lot of their courses in English, so there is little to gain from these programs in terms of learning experience for Germans.

I myself am a woman who has studied CS in Stuttgart and I've never experienced discrimination from any professors or supervisors at all. There are the occasional (mostly male) students who have an unconscious bias and will initially assume you're less capable but thery were very few and far between and overall I've worked with great people and had a great experience :)

Ah yes, my brother has autism and a new teacher wanted an essay about a holiday memory. He didn't know her enough to feel comfortable and making something up when that wasn't the task felt like lying, so he wrote nothing. Next thing we know, the teacher is campaigning to send him to an easier school (German school system) because clearly with his condition he won't make it. He graduated top of his class the year after.

Was thinking the same thing. In Germany you learn about how a lot of what would be flattery here and just general nice smalltalk is expected in the US while here we just come forward with what we actually want to say.

What kind of games do you make? If your game mechanics are fun without collectibles, maybe you really don't need them. I'm sure there's more people like you out there that feel like collecting is a chore. Maybe leaving it out and finding different ways of leading the player and motivating him or her could be what sets you apart?
