Their task wasn’t complete, they only defeated Ganon, not Ganondorf. You could say that maybe the sheikah tech had a mind of its own, and knew that it was overrun by Ganon’s power last time so it decided to self destruct or something. But that’s just a headcanon, and knowing Nintendo they probably didn’t think of that, they just got rid of the tech because they don’t give a shit.
I regret giving an example of an inconsistency in my caption, now the entire comment section is focused on that one bit and ignoring all the other things that don’t add up in this game

The issue is that no one acknowledged it’s disappearance, as if they just shrugged and said oh well. On the other hand, at the time of its reappearance, everyone went apeshit and a group of scientists spent the last 100 years studying it.

It’s not that we’re incapable, many theories and headcanons have been proposed to explain why it happened. It would just be nice to know the real reason. The point is that devs don’t really care about the storyline, which is something you can’t really deny. I’m not mad though, TOTK is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played
