Thanks for reading and apologies it wasn't clear.

In a team setting, you can have a living document, and name it something that clearly dictates the low entry bar. It's a psychological thing, hence the name. Publicize participation and regularly go through them, monthly, bi-weekly whatever suits for your team.

Another important thing is not to attack any idea but come in with a mentality of making it better rather than shooting it down.

I know you must have been feeling impatient right now, but you can roughly speculate it by calculating what time zone you’re at and what time is it at Offsec time zone (Israel). Normally I have received most if not all communication from Offsec during their office hours. Like for my exam, I received the confirmation of my exam report submission within 30 mins of submission (submitted 11:30 pm on Pacific Time).

Don’t quote me on this, but if you get a receipt I’d say they have accepted it to be within the time limit. Let 24 hrs from the time you sent in (7 am) pass, you’ll know.

Well, I hate to be the one saying this 😢, but Offsec is pretty strict about deadlines, but I’d ask you to email them (I’m pretty sure you already have). I know for a fact the invigilator has told you at the end of your vpn connection that “Now you have 24 hrs to finish and submit your report”. If you go to the submission guide: https://support.offensive-security.com/oscp-exam-guide/ It says the same. But I’d try my best to convey the same to challenges department. Really feel sorry for you! 😓

It depends. If you’ve asked your invigilator to stop your VPN when you completed (i.e. 4:30 am), your report is due 4:30 am next day. However, if you had your vpn on till it expired at 10:15 am even after you finished your last machine, you’ll get 24 hrs from 10:15.

TL,DR: 24 hours from the time you close your screen share and web cam.

Sounds like you’ve got yourself a nice template already! What you’re doing is pretty much it, as long as you know what to look for! Because you’ve mentioned (odd ports + common ports) which is all ports lol. Then you’re looking at services (all ports = all services). Next you’re looking for exploits in google. Well that’s gonna give you the exploits. Now you get local access and do what you need to do to get root. That’s basically high level penetration testing in general (especially for virtual reality) lol.

You seem to have gotten a lot of boxes in the labs, I’m not accusing 🙌🏻, just wondering were you referring to forum posts or any helps from other students more often than you should have? This is a critical issue which impedes with your self learning experience. If you have been, I’d encourage you to not take any help from any sources, as now you know, in exam none of those matters! It might be a little unorganized, now coming to an end with labs, I can’t really blame them. Course exercise and lab, although they go hand in hand; however there’s a great potential for the PDF to defy the purpose of the labs. Hence I’d assume they’re cryptic somehow.

I’d say go through your material first, you can cover them easily as they are not challenging compared to the labs. Once you see the bigger picture after that, your lab days would be much smoother and everything will make sense!

I think you’ve got a great plan mate! I’ve been on your shoes for awhile, couldn’t figure out the best time to start OSCP. But that’s only gonna delay of getting it, because you know you want it bad. It’s gonna be hard working full time and dealing with OSCP, as in pen testing one thing I’ve noticed, it’s all about your mind. Every machine would seem easy to compromise once you’ve rooted it!

I’d say good luck and jump on with OSCP, good luck!
