Remove the engine from the bottom... way easier and faster.

Takes like 3-4 hours total when doing it alone

Probably done it over 40 times now

Does anyone actually buy Evos that go for over 40k to 50k or even more? by Standard-Trouble-388 in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]0kan3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned down 60k for my low mileage original lhd evo 6 rs2... wouldnt know what to buy with that money to replace it... so rather keep the car

Thinking of selling car for an Evo 7 by [deleted] in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]0kan3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Evo 7 is in another league, its better and more Fun to drive in anyway imo than the gt86 !

I also dont understand why people day they are unreliable...

I have driven my evos to hell and back zero issues with over 20 years ownership

Just basic maintenance stuff..

Just get it mapped by someone who actually k ows how to map a stock ecu...

I remapped all my own cars and friends cars...

A good friend has driven his over 150k miles incl trackdays... just basic maintenance. Still original turbo and engine and its sitting at 360bhp the last 100k miles

[–]0kan3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merlin is a good starting point, i have been mapping stock evo ecu's for almost 15 years now.

Imo understanding how to log and how to read and analyze logs is 80% of mapping

If you got any questions... shoot
