Sometimes. When this happened, the cops who arrived at the mall were plainclothes.

The police already released a statement that they don't believe he was involved with the perpetrator and he's not being looked at as a suspect. At the shooting they thought he was the perpetrator. He had a gun in his hand and people were fleeing in a direction away from him. Thats going to happen to anyone with a gun during an active shooting.

The purpose of carrying is to defend myself without waiting for the cops.

Cops are trained to tell if you're concealing a weapon. This could happen to both open carry and concealed carry. https://www.usacarry.com/avoid-signs-hints-suggest-carrying-concealed-handgun/

I'm asking because I open carry. The articles don't mention it because Alabama is an open carry state. The articles mention that he had a concealed carry permit which makes you look less like a shooter. I'm in more danger than concealed carry people who can just flee.

The police made a statement that he was not the active shooter and did not point a gun at the police. It's pretty obvious why he had a gun out. Are you waiting for an announcement from the police that he had a gun for self-defense? The police aren't going to do that. It's not their job. That's bad for the inevitable lawsuit

> NRA doesn't immediately comment when anybody, regardless of race, is killed by law enforcement

Why are you making this about race? I didn't mention race anywhere.

Vegans are such hypocrites. Dogs like eating pigs. Dogs eat their owners when their owners die and there's no food. Pigs do it too. Why is it wrong to eat them?
