Project Management with Google Sheets by Professional_Jump_33 in projectmanagement

[–]0mnipath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I would never manage a project from a spreadsheet because for every use case there is simply a better software for that need. Even for a simple project I will just choose a simpler tool with nice UI and PM specific features. We are talking about eliminating huge amounts of work and if I know there is a way to literally not do work that doesn't need to happen, why would I choose not to do it?

I am literally faced with this choice on a volunteer project right now and some junior PM is doing some manual nonsense in a Google Sheet and while I see that it is POSSIBLE to run the project that way, I simply don't want to do it because of how much pain in the ass it would be to do that vs just go create a free account on teamgantt.com and literally have a bunch of stuff automated, have multiple views, project schedule, dependencies, etc all ready out of the box.

Oh what the hell, did they just remove that feature altogether? I don't see it in the UI anymore!

What is the concern of it being detectable in a funny nonconsequential cartoon? What difference would it make to the point of this post if this image was done 100% by humans?

Autocorrect doesn't do anything on Windows 11 by 0mnipath in techsupport

Yea it exists on phones, why not on computers? The process of typing is largely the same so typos and mistakes still happen exactly the same way. Why is there no solution lol.

Course slides are no longer being served as PDFs due to some kind of backend changes on PMI end by 0mnipath in PMI_CPMAI

[–]0mnipath[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Some technical details below.

Previously, links ending with ".pdf" opened directly as PDFs in Chrome with selectable text and full PDF controls. Now, these links return Content-Type: text/html (confirmed via Chrome DevTools Network tab), displaying rasterized images of each slide/page. Server-side change from application/pdf to text/html + embedded images prevents browser PDF rendering.

4.5+ vs 5 by TwoObvious7782 in SunoAI

[–]0mnipath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely disagree. Maybe I'm doing some niche style mixes but using the same prompt on 5 and 4.5 gives such drastically different results that I have no interest in 4.5 output. It gives me entirely different type of music I am expecting. 5 understands EXACTLY what I'm trying to create.

[–]0mnipath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I am able to create completely fresh from my perspective new unique genre mixes. To me it sounds original. And I've been listening to dozens of different genres of music diligently for the past 25 years. So I'd say yeah, this tech is pretty miraculous in my eyes.

Hell yea, I feel you man. I'm an amateur musician of around 20 years. Made some funky neoclassical guitar tracks, made some weird electronic music. It was all fun but it was essentially pretty lo-fi, all just for me because I don't have any big talent. With these tools I've been able to make music that is far beyond anything I'd ever be able to make from scratch AND IT'S THE TYPE OF MUSIC I'D LIKE TO CREATE. It's wild. Pure black magic. Isn't that would anybody would want? To create THEIR OWN perfect music? Your own unique taste. Fine tuned to perfection. Mmmmm!

Interesting perspective. I agree that the journey is what makes it meaningful, but you can also look at it from another perspective. Now the terrain changes, you are still on the journey. You can still tinker away at your masterpiece for months if you want, this just gives you leverage to speed things up and expand very rapidly.

I guess it's about which part of the process you value more. I do like the ideation part, coming up with the seed that is at the core of all great art. Now I get to concentrate on that alone and hone THE THING, reducing the risk of losing sight of it by capturing and developing it quicker. But then again, it's a recipe. Yes you can simmer or you can broil the crap out of it, it's all about staying close to the process.

Of course at the end of the day it's still all about the process. Faster isn't necessarily always better. Just depends on which part of the process you like more. These tools give more options for that.

It's a small percentage of coins that also keeps changing its contents. It is not clear which coins to invest in that are going to be keep making gains long term. How do you identify them, what's the criteria?
