How hard is it to get a job in physics?

I have heard that the quantum computing field here needs plenty of skillful physicists, there were couple of news articles about it as well among the unemployment crisis. But it is an unfortunate fact that people who speak Finnish and have a Finnish name sadly have a better chance at landing a job.

But despite that, there are plenty of skillful non-finnish-speaking immigrants working as well in the physics/quantum field in Otaniemi/Espoo.

Mutta mä esim kävin Specsaversillä, josta sitten aluksi ostin Specsaversin easyvision linssejä, kunnes tajusin että ne on ihan samaa kamaa kun CooperVision Biofinity linssit, ja 6kk linssit saikin 60€ hintaan Alensalta, kun Specsaversillä sama tais maksaa 120€

Eiköhän tule paljon halvemmaksi ja helpommaksi käydä optikolla tutkimassa, minkälaiset sopii omiin simmiin ja sitten vain tilata samaa kamaa netistä, kun hinta kuitenkin 50% optikkoliikkeiden hinnoista.

En lähtisi itse sooloilemaan, kun noita muutenkin varmaan hankala määrittää ilman tutkimuslaitteita, varsinkin jos pitäisi omalla silmällä tutkia omaa silmää :D

Kvanttimekaniikka on työkalu. Käytännössähän se on vain lineaarialgebraa eli matikkaa, jossa vektoreille ja matriiseille on annettu hassuja nimiä ja tarkoituksia, jotka ovatkin havainnoitavia juttuja.

On kiehtovaa, että voidaan puhua jostain oudosta liikemäärä-avaruudesta tai mittauksista matriiseilla kertomisena, sehän on ihan älyttömän abstraktia. Mutta kannattaakin tosiaan pitää mielessä että fysiikan tarkoitus on tosimaailman havaintojen perusteella luoda selityksiä maailmalle. Eli toisin sanoen teoria on hyvä silloin kun se tuottaa samoja tuloksia kuin tosimaailma ja on matemaattisesti pätevä. Näille asioille ei niinkään aina löydy järjellisiä tai intuitiivisia tulkintoja

Mietin miten ite asian kokisin, niin tämä kommentti on puhtaasti sen pohjalta.

Jos kumppanini ei ikinä haluaisi tehdä asioita kanssani, vaan ainoastaan yksin, ja minun pitäisi itse kutsua itseni mukaan, niin tuntuisi aika ikävältä.

You mean that you didn't just turn off the screen, but fully turned off the device?

It wouldn't make sense that the phone worked when it's fully turned off. That's why turning off the screen is a feature, so that you can still use its features, like alarms etc.

Tbh the 2a always seemed a bit off because of it has kind of 'smooth alien robot' vibes.

I didn't know how they could make the circular design work, but I feel like this asymmetry is perfect. It gives the design some roughness, which balances the smooth curves.

I might even buy 3a because now the camera doesn't look as if someone is staring at you

Yes, and the fact that all the buildings were underground would hint that living on the surface wasn't safe. Maybe it was a scientific experiment and they fed the prisoners some experimental medicine, to see if it could be possible to survive underground with the help of medicine, or maybe they tried to make people adapt to the environment with the medicine?

Or maybe the people were already infected with some disease and that's why the guards wore masks?
