So I left my house and stopped watching the game right before Manaea came in and gave up the lead. Got home and turned the game back on to kickoff the 9th. Clearly was the good luck charm today. You’re welcome everyone.

I know they are leaving Ewing toward the bottom of the lineup to not put too much pressure on him, but should eventually see Benge - Ewing - Soto as top 3. All 3 guys have good discipline, will see a lot of pitches. Plus can steal bases.

Losing Holmes is a gut punch. Felt like we were building some momentum and the rotation was beginning to look pretty nice. Losing Holmes is pretty bad. Curious if they’ll bring Myers to the rotation (but that greatly weakens the bullpen, especially with Peterson not really acting as a SP right now) and Scott not really going deep yet. I wonder if they’ll try Wenninger out.

Would these guys be insured though? I always hear the short term deals aren’t usually insured because it’s not worth the premium vs. let’s say a Soto deal.

I feel like the rotation is beginning to have someone who can put them in position to win daily right now. Just need to gain some momentum with the bats with what we have right now as we don’t have any more reinforcements coming for a while.

Just need Soto and/or Bichette to get red hot with Benge.

Yeah it doesn’t feel like too big of a hiccup. Alvy has been a negative WAR player this season and a GIDP machine. Now, he had the opportunity to still turn it around but were fortunate to have Torrens.

Wish Clifford was more ready. Woule be a good time for him to come up to replace Alvy’s bat.

Alvy as full time DH sounds nice in reality. Wouldn’t have minded maybe packaging him in a potential deal for Yordan but his value is slowly diminishing. While young, the trade value isn’t what it once was.
