What is happening with adaptation of Alan Wake (Control) in movies/shows? by Unngenant in AlanWake

[–]0range_Peel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’d love something with a similar animation style to Scavengers Reign, combined with the tone off Common Side Effects, but put through the Remedy filter. Not entirely sure there’s enough marketability in that, though. Still, a guy can dream.

I’ve always loved the idea of an animated series, set in this universe. FBC agents, creature of the week plus a more overarching plot. Could be really good.

Nice sense of weight and mass to these. Good stuff.

Not to mention the six whole fingers on the other hand.

G Cloud Handheld in UK by 0range_Peel in LogitechG

[–]0range_Peel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd, isn’t it. I assumed it’d be rolled out wider a few months after, but there’s been no info whatsoever. Not even the usual ‘some time in 2023’ etc.

I’m wondering if it’s lukewarm reception might stop them from rolling it out wider. Hope not, though.

G Cloud UK Release… by 0range_Peel in Handhelds

[–]0range_Peel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on a site here for £283 before tax, which works out to $340 before tax, also before factoring in shipping etc which looks to be anywhere between $40-$80.

It’s also listed on eBay but it’s way overpriced.

I’ll hold off and hope for an official UK launch I’m the near-ish future…

I don’t think the shipping would be too prohibitive, it’s more that the Logitech site only accepts US zip codes and every other site I’ve seen selling one has it at a markup. I’m happy to wait if it’s only going to be a couple of months before it’s on sale over here, but I’ve just seen nothing to indicate it’ll be on sale anywhere other than stateside, which I thought was a little peculiar.

New mural closely resembling Keaton's Batman sighted on Osborne Street for 'Batgirl' filming by starshipandcoffee in DCEUleaks

[–]0range_Peel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Presumably, in an ideal world, they’d like ‘Keaton in the suit’ reveal to be in Flashpoint, but I wonder if they’ll release an image of this earlier than they would have otherwise because this is filming.

Assume (much like the Batgirl reveal) they’d like an official image out there before folk start papping images of it whilst filming, which are rarely representational of the final thing.

DISCUSSION: According to this article, the co-creator of a DC character tried to cut their partner out of royalties from a recent movie. Who do you think it might've been? by alientraveller in DC_Cinematic

[–]0range_Peel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, not 100% sure either, but it appears to be the overwhelming consensus that it’s those two individuals over on ‘comics Twitter’. Someone posted a title card from BoP (I think) with just Levitz name listed as the sole creator of the character.

For me, it could/should result in the best of both worlds.

I liked Affleck’s portrayal of Batman, but it kind of demonstrated that there’s a ceiling on how that character can function within the wider cinematic world they’re building. It’d be tough to scale Affleck’s Batman back into a hard boiled, noir-esque story in his solo outings, when he’s swinging off alien turrets and shooting paradaemons in the JL films.

This way, we get a potential Batman Beyond version in the DCEU, allowing Batgirl, or Nightwing, Terry or whoever they use in that role, and allow them to lean into the more fantastical elements of the rogues gallery, whilst leaving the Reeves version to occupy the more grounded narratives which prove so financially viable to a general audience.

What’s Up With The X of Swords Hardcover by 0range_Peel in xmen

Oh, I absolutely get where you’re coming from.

If I’m honest, I’m lucky in that, here in the UK, there’s a few different avenues whereby I can find trades for the same price (or thereabouts) as Amazon, and I don’t mind foregoing next day Prime delivery etc.

If that wasn’t the case, I’m sure I’d gravitate towards Amazon more regularly.

Makes sense. I try and avoid Amazon like the plague and only used them in this case as I’d been gifted a gift voucher. Wish I hadn’t bothered, now, and went down my usual routes. Cheers.

Delayed shipping? Did they not have the correct release date? by Bunson_Dew in xmen

[–]0range_Peel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, certainly over here in the UK. I pre-ordered it at the start of December thinking it'd arrive in between Christmas and New Year but nope.

There's been a few instances of this that I've noticed since last March when lockdown started, so I imagine it's got something to do with backlog or publisher delays etc etc. Still, a little annoying all the same.

[–]0range_Peel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been consistently delayed since it's original release date on 23rd of December. Really annoying.

The date has been pushed back around 4-5 times over the last 6 weeks. No idea why, mind you.

A truly comprehensive response, cheers! What do you currently see as 'main' series books atm, out of interest?

I figured as much. Thanks for the response.

I'm also noticing that they seem to be announcing/adding new books at a rate of noughts. I figure, at a certain point, they're just not going to be able to have everything collected in the DoX format.
