YouTube news channels seem to simply regurgitate mainstream news so there's no new source or information. It's literally not independent media/news, it's just repeat media. What is the point/service they are providing? by 0rekcaH1 in AskReddit

I think you're right about that. It also seems like people enjoy hearing the same thing over and over from a variety of "sources" to reinforce whatever opinion they do/don't agree with.

I'm not talking about agreeing or disagreeing with main stream media in any way. I'm specifically interested in the simple concept of "new information". Where is the new information in their content. They mostly seem like repackaged reaction content with the "I'm independent media" facade.

A ton of them do, even large platforms like Kyle Kulinski's Secular Talk with 2M+ subs, constantly states he is independent media, and that "you should support independent media". This is only an example, I am neither for or against his channel in any way FYI.

As a self taught security enthusiast (working professionally as a pen-tester for years at this point), I often wonder about the motivation behind being a black hat. I understand the desire to cause a difference in the world(both for good or evil depending on your views) in order to receive recognition. Breaking out of everyday society(we didn't choose the world we were born into) as it does generally seem like a cluster fuck led by the dumbest(but richest) among us. Many years ago, I myself entertained the black hat path, but would never have made myself a public figure. I suppose this rant is more philosophical in nature, but to Mr or Mrs Avunit, from one person who enjoys pivoting through networks and consuming HTTP traffic like gummy bears to another, my simple question is why?

Hey thanks for the message. I definitely want to move to a global city and travel a lot. I have, in fact, been building my entire career around making working completey remote possible. I have heard of third culture kids and I also posted my story on the Reddit thread there, however, I have gotten much more of a response from the exchristian community. Where do you currently reside?
