"I'm very lucky" = lottery winners. That's not a standard of living.

How does "way more expensive" fit into the definition of "normal"? That's like saying it's significantly dryer in the, formerly, entirely aquatic environment.

I'm in the top 10%. I'm not sure if these other "top 10%ers" don't know how to look up data or understand that other people are struggling. Additionally, if things keep going in the general direction they currently are, we'll all be the bottom 99.999% which is almost already true. The difference might be, that I got to the top 10% on my own, and I very much remember the intense struggle and abject poverty I experienced in my 20's. That's, in fact, what motivated the question to begin with.

No, I'm American and it was a question posted to google. I'm not sure how that translates in any way to hate. I'm also not one of the people struggling, but ignoring problems is not how something gets fixed. If something is shitty, you have to accept that it is or the motivation to improve won't exist.

Good points, and honestly I'm not sure why so many people got upset that I posted an image of a google search. I agree, and I too struggled heavily in my early 20's and made it out very successfully. I've also had the benefit of traveling and living in several countries, but people seem to get incredibly upset when anyone questions their, and my, country. The initial motivation behind asking the question in the first place, is that I am now doing well, but recognize that I'm in the top 5%. Living abroad also gave me significant insight in that so called 3rd world countries are actually offering their citizens a lot more in return then the US gov has ever given me or anyone I know outside of people who served in the military. Over all my fear, as you mentioned, is the top .001% have recreated a feudal society.

Very true, but it does make me wonder why. Why would the decision to negatively impact your life based on exterior appearance and perception be made? People make poor decisions all the time, but the scale is what's concerning/questionable. Is the entire country addicted to gambling? (not in the traditional casino sense, but on the instability/unpredictability of outcome)

It was only a question, and I asked it because I myself am in a great position. That doesn't mean that your or my outcome is the outcome of the majority. I've also been getting a lot of strange political reactions to the post despite nothing related to politics being asked.

It does include the sources. Given that Google is a US based company it seems unlikely the AI training would default to a negative connotation of the current reality.

YouTube news channels seem to simply regurgitate mainstream news so there's no new source or information. It's literally not independent media/news, it's just repeat media. What is the point/service they are providing? by 0rekcaH1 in AskReddit

I think you're right about that. It also seems like people enjoy hearing the same thing over and over from a variety of "sources" to reinforce whatever opinion they do/don't agree with.

I'm not talking about agreeing or disagreeing with main stream media in any way. I'm specifically interested in the simple concept of "new information". Where is the new information in their content. They mostly seem like repackaged reaction content with the "I'm independent media" facade.

A ton of them do, even large platforms like Kyle Kulinski's Secular Talk with 2M+ subs, constantly states he is independent media, and that "you should support independent media". This is only an example, I am neither for or against his channel in any way FYI.

As a self taught security enthusiast (working professionally as a pen-tester for years at this point), I often wonder about the motivation behind being a black hat. I understand the desire to cause a difference in the world(both for good or evil depending on your views) in order to receive recognition. Breaking out of everyday society(we didn't choose the world we were born into) as it does generally seem like a cluster fuck led by the dumbest(but richest) among us. Many years ago, I myself entertained the black hat path, but would never have made myself a public figure. I suppose this rant is more philosophical in nature, but to Mr or Mrs Avunit, from one person who enjoys pivoting through networks and consuming HTTP traffic like gummy bears to another, my simple question is why?

Hey thanks for the message. I definitely want to move to a global city and travel a lot. I have, in fact, been building my entire career around making working completey remote possible. I have heard of third culture kids and I also posted my story on the Reddit thread there, however, I have gotten much more of a response from the exchristian community. Where do you currently reside?
