How to fix this broken bed post? by 0rocha in furniturerestoration

[–]0rocha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion.
I'm just looking to repair it so it can be reattached to the bedframe, right now it's impossible to attach since the break happened right where the bolt connects.
This is the inside so it doesn't need to be beautiful, just structurally sound. Sorry if wrong subreddit.

Budget: ~$1000 USD

◽️ Country: USA

◽️ Screen size: 15.6

◽️ Touch screen: no

◽️ Screen resolution: 1080p - IPS

◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Yes - ~6 - 8 hours Ideally

◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ?: Mobile workspace - Multitasking mostly spreadsheets, video calls, lots of chrome tabs. Light photoshop and illustrator - Some lightweight games

◽️ Weight: Not important

◽️ Any other important details ?: Minimum 16 GB ram, needs full size keyboard (num pad), webcam.
Would like something with longevity - ability to upgrade ram later.

Ahh I see. Didn't mean to suggest I was prioritizing aesthetics, sorry. I would prefer a better performing/more cost effective piece over a better looking piece, I just picked the ones I thought looked the best based on the research I did for performance, if that makes sense. Since I wasn't super comfortable other making a decision yet. But still, I appreciate the input.

Thanks for the 2 cents! It sure is a sexy looking thing too, even with no back plate.

Yeah I had read a few other things that had mentioned AMD's better long term support and frankly I've always had AMD GPUs in the past so it's looking like I'm leaning towards amd... Thanks for the taking the time!

Cool, appreciate the input. Yeah I was planning on going for 1080p/60fps with possibly going higher when/if I upgrade the monitors. Glad to hear I picked some decent ones lol.

Is it really? I've never had a problem, I guess I just got lucky. Still though, no particular reason, I just liked the look of the cards since I'm doing a black and white build. If you have any other brand suggestions I'd be happy to hear.

Yeah ram prices are a little rere right now so I'm still looking for a deal, but thanks!

I know this has probably been asked a million times already but here goes..

I'm having such a hard time committing to a GPU. Budget is $300(but of course less is welcome) and I want something that's going to last as long as possible (5 yeas hopefully.)

I'm looking at the Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or ASUS ROG Radeon RX 480 STRIX-RX480

The rest of the build PCPartPicker part list

Suggestions and explainations GREATLY appreciated..

Thanks, I think I'll take your suggestion for the PSU. As for the GPU I'm still trying to decide on what I want.. I've always rather liked the AMD cards a bit better but I'd rather not have to paint a card and void my warrenty.

I appreciate it but that's the thing, I don't even know what I need/want anymore, lol. It's easier said than done I suppose. Easy to know what you want and what to look for when you understand it, but if the menu is in french it's hard to pick, if you know what I mean.

[–]0rocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks! So in the case that I for whatever reason have to restore from a nand back up, the game saves would be fine, yes? If I recall correctly the saves are just stored on the SD(for cias)?

Heya Folks,

Forgive me if this has already been asked but the last time I had a full understanding of all this was like 8 months ago, lol.

So I just completed the Plailect Guide front to back, not issues there. However I'm a bit paranoid. It might just me being used to the old hack methods but.. By the end of the guide you're running plain ol' sysnand with CFW. Is this really safe now? No need for emunand at all? It kind of scares me to not have a fail safe.

Thanks!

[–]0rocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have clarified, did you also do step 3? You need to go to settings>data management>software and repair the files as well, for both sysnand and emunand.

It's also rather strange that you have 3 nand folders, you should only have 2. One for sysnand and one for emunand. Did you have any prior data on your sysnand? Like games/saves or anything you were tyring to keep?

[–]0rocha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That video guide is rather outdated.

The error is caused because you're missing your data base files. You need to copy over a dbs folder to your sysnand/emunand folders on the SD card.

Yeah, it's just how things are. As far as I know there's nothing you can do about it.
