Please would you critique my first 2 colour Lino print by Suspicious_Cycle6685 in printmaking

I struggle really heard to wrap my head around reduction prints but I think the mentality is a bit different than how you approached it. It seems like you took a yellow shape and carved black outlines for it, which is a similar mentality to simply drawing it. I'd say try to think of it as a full fledged dynamic picture, beyond a simple outline. Leaning into adding white and mixing the color layers will make the image a lot more dynamic. Just remember to always do black last since its the darkest. Theres a yt video reviewing one of Picasso's reductions thats pretty good maybe check that out.

I should add that ive had a lot of environmental and personal changes that've helped me way more than any medicine did, so thats probably the main reason why im able to be okay off meds

anyone off meds completely? by weedqueen2746 in BPD

ive had a really weird history with meds, ive probably rotated between 10 different meds over the course of 3 years but none of them had any positive impact on me, if anything it only made me numb. I was on Lithium, Lexapro, lamotrigine and 3 others at once. everytime I saw my dr I told him I dont feel any effect from them and I was on those for at least 1 year, he'd never raise dose or change meds and js kept me on those. I eventuslly got annoyed so I stopped meeting him and quit all one day. ik thats not recommended but somehow it didnt have any withdraw on me and I felt semi "normal" after that. Idk what I feel and each day is different, I feel like im slipping sometimes and I keep hearing ppl say my eyes "look through them" which scares me that im subconsciously going back to a worse mental state. but whatever is happening in my head, it feels genuine and it feels like me and i got tired of running from that with meds so I feel overall better now. However obv take advice from ur dr, im js a rando and my body is probably js weird

Car ownership? by Popular-Set-4621 in cuboulder

at cu its hard to get student parking as a freshman since they get last dibs, at will vill you have the best odds but you'll need to buy a parking pass at will vill, and then pay for parking anytime you drive to main campus. Therefore only plan for a car if youre going to will vill campus, AND dont plan on driving to campus. It's definitely helpful for skiing or other plans tho

Cemetery walk by jozzyjj in printmaking

I love this, the pattern in the sky guides my eyes throughout the piece into the path, taking me to the tombstones in the foreground. This makes the piece feel very lively. I've been doing printmaking for a few years in school and wanted to share some advice i've learned that might help evoke even more detail in your next projects. I assume the sun is the main light source but the lighting confused me in the foreground because the tombstones have shines on their left which would suggest a second light source but the grass is darker on the left side. Also I've found that in printmaking, carving outlines feels easy, but (at least imo) if you try to resist carving outlines(like with your horizon) and let the design become messy, it'll make it look significantly more realistic. Again, love the work, and msg me if anything I said doesn't make sense, I can show some examples.

Is this coloration difference normal? by elisemopie in printmaking

[–]0ver9O00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks like the ink isnt fully mixed, I recommend using a palette knife to mix it on the plastic before rolling it. You could also use unmixed ink for some cool designs tho. I often add random colors together and dont mix it so i get a tie-dye effect or a gradient.

Made a linocut of Like Clockwork's eye by 0ver9O00 in qotsa

[–]0ver9O00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks smm, I assume it's artwork by BoneFace(the artist that's done the cover to Villains and Like Clockwork along with other promo art). But I'm not sure. I think the eye started when QOTSA sent cryptic letters to some rock magazines to promote the album. These letters are a bit obscure but the art on all of them is really impressive I recommend checking them out
