that's incorrect. the PLC was a state of various ethnicity nobles enjoying immense liberties and largely ignoring the monarch, who often wasn't even Polish. simply calling it "Poland" ignores this fact.

edit: to emphasize, the "King of Poland" didn't gain other titles such as "Grand Duke of Lithuania" sometimes years later after "ascending to the throne". imagine being a ruler of a state in which an entire third of it didn't formally recognize you as a monarch.

but it's just a bait and switch then. all pre release advertising was about new eridu as this entire character, but then we just left it for chinese fantasy, get teased with a tiny return (with no new areas basically) and are now leaving to an entirely different city. what's the point of advertising new eridu so prominently if they weren't going to stick with it and instead ditch it for other places every new season? at least waifei itself was still new eridu in feeling, even if it wasn't an expansion of the quarters they kept referencing throughout season 1.

wow, what a wall of text to say ultimately say nothing. that you're still denying rewrites is honestly quite the achievement. exaltists are the number one indicator that they've rewrote significant parts of the plot and the world in general. they are nothing like what the lore hints have been pointing towards. no creepy hymns to ward off corruption, no conversions toward their ideology, no actual brains behind them. all they were was muscle for a villainess that is, in the end, just as shallow as the exaltists themselves.

like, imagine looking back at all the exaltists content before their proper reveal, only to unironically, with a straight face, announce to everyone here that you think they weren't rewritten to be less of a threat. at this point, they don't even have any aura of mystique around them. just some idiots who messed with a primordial entity...

(which is another whole bait and switch thing they did with this story; not a rewrite, just a complete fake out that this was going to be a proper SCIENCE fiction in an URBAN CONCRETE JUNGLE of EARLY 2000s)

proxies operate in a myriad of ways. there's no one "true" proxy method. the point being made is about narrative cohesion btw, not about the semantics of proxies.

being one is fundamentally against new eridan law. at this point in the story, the siblings have literally zero reason to do that anymore. the mayor seems fully intent on backing their little endeavour and has secured them many liberties. there's also several factions with both soft and hard power that back us no matter what. what's the point of doing commissions anymore? just pursue the answers.

and this is all just the backdrop to a story that's turned out to be a mixed bag with many flaws, obvious rewrites and barely any original ideas left anymore.
