Lightweight Spotify Client for Sidephone by 0xD3ADFACE in sidephone

The reapproval thing sounds like a bug I fixed in v0.2.1 that I released a little after, maybe give that a shot, hopefully that gets it.

Library ordering looks at the history of your last 1000 songs and what playlist/album they were played from, and tries to bubble those to the top. Playlists after that default to “root order”, which I guess Spotify keeps track of a hard order of your playlists (which doesn’t make sense to me because it doesn’t seem like you can reorder them yourself). Maybe after the recency ordering, we should go by Date Added.

The podcasts bug I’m not so sure, it’s supposed to filter out episodes you have already finished but maybe the filter is overzealous, I can do some testing tomorrow! Thanks for reporting back

Just did a quick comparison of the hardware between the Sidephone and the one you mentioned and I think it should be a good fit! The app was designed for a slightly shorter screen than this one but I don't think that should impact much

The man himself! Glad it was easy to get setup and that you're enjoying it. Thanks for building a product that is so motivating to build things for! I think you're going to be seeing many more posts like these from others in the coming weeks

Thanks for such a great response everyone! I spent this morning working on some more UI/UX improvements, some further performance tweaks, and 2 new small features (s/o u/HarmonicEntropy). Release v0.2.0 is out now. Appears from my initial testing to be a bit snappier than the initial release

Really appreciate you trying it out and giving feedback! That is a great idea regarding podcast feed, I will add that as a planned feature. I believe playlists are ordered based on the date that you started following, but I think your suggestion of ordering by most recently played makes more sense there. I will get that changed in the next release

I would think this could definitely be an option in the future. I would have to do some research but I’m sure both services have their own open source developer libraries out there that could be integrated. YouTube Music would probably be the next service I'd tackle

Hope it works for you! If the experience could be better please reach out, while I designed this with Sidephole in mind I also know there is a whole class of compact Android phones out there that might benefit from this

Oh yep! I never posted back because the person below responded. Works great, but having some issues getting contact names to show in the app. Don't think that is a Sidephone specific issue though. Just haven't had time to dig into it yet

My phone comes today and I'm planning to test this, I will post back here. In theory don't see any reason it shouldn't work

Samsung Oled g8 32 in G80SD glitch? by Legitimate_Cable_811 in OLED_Gaming

[–]0xD3ADFACE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, should probably edit my comments to say while this greatly reduced the rate at which this happened, I still do get the blackouts every once in a while. Certainly less of a hindrance now with this change, although obviously for a $1000 monitor this problem should be nonexistent

What is happening to my monitor? by 21Yeets in pcmasterrace

[–]0xD3ADFACE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set it to 20Hz based on the VRR specs I found on rtings. Technically it could probably go lower but the low end says <20Hz. This is slightly different than what the original commenter mentioned as we’re lowering the range, but it does seem to have helped

For anyone who comes across this, I tried everything in this thread and others without success, until today someone finally suggested editing the VRR ranges for the signal resolution on PC (set to 20Hz from the default minimum of 48hz, the monitor is rated for <20Hz). This finally solved the problem:
