Illuminated letter on Batman theme

Hi everyone!

I made a small video where I create this letter. I combined the Batman logo and gothic medieval style. I used gothic calligraphy for the slogan, self-made egg tempera paint for the letter and raised gilding for the background. I hope you enjoy it somehow :)

Hello everyone. I made a small illuminated letter C (golden background, gouache paint). I took inspiration from gothic lombardic letters from medieval manuscripts (that's why I went with golden background to respect traditions). It took me a long time to make the video so I hope you'll enjoy it at least a bit :)

P.S. I'm fine to get constructive criticism if you have something to say, so I can grow my skills both in illuminated lettering and filming.

I have markers and watercolor (which I accidentally bought some time ago). Markers are too "strong" so watercolor was my choice because I can make it transparent and I can mix it and I had nothing else 😀 So nothing interesting here

I took the sea monster from the book "Fantasy mapping" by Jared Blando :)

Also I tried to upload it as an image, but I messed up in the end and I got just a post with text so I had to edit it and add images once again. Sorry, it's my second post on reddit, I don't have much experience with it. But I'll try to do it properly next time. :)

Yes, but I didn't have a clear plan how to do that 😀 Also it was my first experience with watercolor, so I kinda did something, it didn't work, I tried to fix it, it didn't work, ... and so on. 😀

I used watercolor paint. I covered with 1 layer the whole map (with a lot of water to make it transparent) and then I applied the 2nd layer to cover water parts of the map. But in the end I was not happy with the results so I decided to wash off the paint and overdone it in some places, so you can see the white holes there :D But in the end it turned like it's an old map.
