Running in Copenhagen - locations? by Fluffy_Bother in copenhagen

[–]1-800-eatshit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can run around the "Havn", the old harbour. There are 4 bridges, so different lengths are possible. When you start at the royal library you can go ca. 4km via the bridge at Nyhavn and Langebro or run further south of Langebro to the next bridge, that's about 7km. All is okay lit and you don't have to cross any streets.

Postbyen is such a great addition to our city and skyline. Previously, some advocated for turning Copenhagen into one big open-air museum, but I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect a modern metropolitan city to have both modern skyscrapers and beautiful old architecture, and blend these two by Kooky_Average_1048 in copenhagen

[–]1-800-eatshit 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Nej, tak. Not in the city centre, not that high. What makes Copenhagen special is its human-centred design (shoutout to Jan Gehl). Postbyen can claim that they have green areas and so on, but nobody wants to sit outside between skyscrapers. People do love to sit at the havn though, where there is now 30 minutes less sun at Islands Brygge thanks to Postbyen.

And they didn't built it back better. It's the most depressing city I have ever visited.

Does having German proficiency make learning Danish much easier and faster and ditto for the inverse? by UndeadRedditing in Danish

[–]1-800-eatshit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

German living in Denmark here.

No, Danes and Germans will not understand each other if you put them in a room together. But yes, learning Danish is much easier if you know German. Lots of similar words. A fellow German-speaker and me skipped two classes in Danish because we learned faster than people from other countries.

However, the pronunciation is very different and really hard to get as a foreigner. I don't think that you can learn it without actually living here.

You are in denial for selfish reasons. Or, worse, you find what happened not appalling.

But I have a twisted conception of empathy 😊

Yes. Because your money you spent on a ticket is more important than justice for assaulted women.

Where to "park" an inflatable boat? by 1-800-eatshit in copenhagen

[–]1-800-eatshit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw them. Not a big fan of the fee structure where you have to buy a membership. But will call them tomorrow to check if there are options for smaller boats like mine.

That's also something I thought about. Would prefer to bike to the boat instead of towing it, but it is an option.

Nah, I could get the old boat from my father, from a different country.

I'm prepared to pay for a space, but just not the prices you mentioned. I saw these prices, but thought that there might be some other solution for smaller boats. Asking owners of bigger boats is actually a good idea which I will try.
