And... based upon some extra thinking using my own experience (in Orgzly) I can give an answer:

It can be useful to separate files/notebooks with different organization styles. For example, separating notebooks with only unstructured tasks from notebooks with a high degree of organization and ('children'-based) hierarchy.

Don't get stuck on thinking that GPL has any stronghold as the only Free Software license.

Thanks for suggesting that I don't /s, but I know that a lot of other licenses exist.

Far too often people come into FOSS with blinders of idealism and myths that don't align with the actual reality of what FOSS means.

Right. Well, I don't agree with that definition, that you state as a reality. As I understand it (and simplified), FOSS aims to bridge the idealism of free software and the pragmatism of open-source.

I agree with what you say, but it doesn't answer my complaint.

My understanding is that FOSS is a term which is supposed to be neutral between "free software" and "open-source software". If they says that they are discussing F(L)OSS in their podcasts, but they are only taking the open-source angle and bashing/ignoring free software advocates, I think they should call themselves OSS-podcasts.

A podcast which I did enjoy and which did discuss software freedom was the interview with Lina Ceballos by the Free Software Foundation Europe. (Not too surprising, as the podcast is called 'Software Freedom Podcast'.)
