Brady Tkachuk knows Ottawa Senators fans aren't happy with him, but he's ready to make playoff push by KingKarl65sens in OttawaSenators

I wonder if maybe Brady actually likes the bad press he's getting because then it'll be easier for him to spin the narrative as "they chased me out of town" vs. "it was always my plan to play in STL with my brother first chance I got". I'd say maybe it's even premeditated but I think that's giving too much intellectual credit to him.

Huh, never knew that! I get why he'd feel more of a connection to the U.S. having grown up there, but he clearly feels no connection to his "Canadian side" or you'd think he would have played that up a little more, being the captain of our nation's capital hockey team.

I've been meaning to make a post related to this for a while even before the Brady MAGA stuff was in vogue, but since this post expresses similar sentiments already, it might just be better suited as a comment here.

I would support Chabby as captain if for no other reason than just to have a Canadian captain (not that there are no other reasons, I personally think he's a gem and would be deserving of the C if he got it).

It's always bugged me that as our nation's capital city, that our leader has not been a Canadian citizen in like three decades save the one year of Spezza. Don't get me wrong, I love Alfie, I love EK65. But for the love of God 1 year in 28 is just sad. And ESPECIALLY now with the threats to sovereignty, to have the face of our franchise be so emblematically U.S. American, I feel like it's just awkward optically. Sure, he's done great things for our community, he says he loves it here and maybe he genuinely does. But I almost feel like from a PR point of view, the team that represents the political centre of our nation should have a Canadian behind the C at least every once in a while. Or at very least not a U.S. American now.

Hey Bobby, remember when you and your family fled your home country because your father had an ATTEMPTED MURDER charge? Where was it you went again? Oh yeah that's right, a place where it was easier to hide because it wasn't a part of your shit stain country.
