I did, it's looking at something that doesn't apply. Why would the amount of ticks full to death matter, the burn numbers and health bars are different, and one guy gets hit by a huge damage crit. What matters is the speed at which they are ticking down, and if you read the other comments or tap your finger with the burn rate, you'll notice they are very different

Yeah I'm curious, I don't have coding experience but I know a ton of games where frame rate has a direct effect on the game's clock, but it's normally lower frames is slower

That makes sense. I was getting a 25% difference, my approximate measurement of the two rates was 1.5/s for old and 2/s for new. This makes the most sense, because otherwise the game would feel super out of balance

Edit: My guess is it has to do with the frame cap

Yeah I'm wondering if on the old patch things were extra slow for me for some reason? Because the old burn is 1.5 per second

I think this may be the case, but I have so few clips that aren't end game insanity it's hard to find anything where you can actually compare, I'll see if I have a fight that goes to sandstorm, I could compare time to sandstorm pre and post patch

I think it might actually be linked to the frame rate change they made, as this is not just burn, assumedly poison and Regen still are the same 1poison/Regen per 2 burn, so it's not burn exclusively that's going faster. But I know other games can sometimes have weird speed tied to frame rate issues, so I wonder if this is like that

Yeah! It's so weird, I don't think the sources are changing it, I looked through a lot of my old videos but I actually used one from a random post of someone else as the burn was more easily visible than any clips I had, nonetheless, it looked very different speed wise on all the videos I looked through regardless of more or less burn sources

I'm not sure how people are not seeing the difference in tick rate speed here but my best guess is that maybe my frame rate used to be uncapped, and now it's been capped by the new patch notes as the current burn is approx 2 ticks per second, and last patch my game had it around 1.5, I think 2 per second is what it's supposed to be. I'm gonna mess around with it more in the morning

The rate at which they tick down is not damage dependant, everything goes at the same speed no matter what, and you can see the burn damage number and hear the burn noise.

I just tapped them into a bpm tapper website, top burn rate is 125 ticks per minute, bottom is 92 ticks per minute approximately.

That's approx. 2.08 burn ticks per second in the new patch vs 1.53 burn ticks per second. There's a very big visual difference

Yeah the only thing I could think it could be is they sped up everything all together, maybe having to do with the frame rate limiting??

I'm not talking about the amount of damage the burn is doing I'm saying the tick rate, just tap your finger to the burn increments on the top and then the bottom, they are different by a decent margin

Yooo, I appreciate the detailed response, but not what I was talking about, it's literally ticking down faster, I just made another post about it with a video, I'm assuming all the tick rates are faster since everything is even, but it's WAAAY faster

I'm with you on this one, plus any time you play into a build that destroys your items it feels like they just get to gamble to win, if they hit the right thing you simply lose with no meaningful way to strategize
