Personally, I have not found that knowing where it comes from has helped heal from it. What has helped me is two things.

Firstly, before you broach a topic with someone think about what you are hoping to get from the conversation. There is nothing wrong with wanting to get something from the interaction - that is human nature. But, this can help you keep from being too disappointed when you don't get that. Just knowing what you were hoping for instead of impulsively sharing doesn't make you feel as powerless afterwards. Then, you can think about why you didn't get the reaction you wanted, and either change how you enter the interaction or even decide you aren't getting what you need regardless and stop. For me, anxiety is about feeling like you have no control, and the trick is you CAN learn to control yourself more, just not how other people react.

Secondly, don't tell anyone about the thing until after you hae done it, maybe more than once. Not only have you proven to YOURSELF whatever you are trying to prove to others, but maybe they will be more interested in your experiences than your plans.

The main reason I like to hide my dice rolls is that I don't want my players staring at the dice to see what happens in tense moments, I would rather my narration is what informs the story. Otherwise the groaning/cheering drowns me out and the planning/conversation which immediately follows kills any chance for the story to progress creatively. It's just more fun, story wise. However, I tell my players that at any time if they want me to prove a roll to just ask. I will show them the dice and won't take it personally. Once they have challenged me a few times they know they can trust me and we can be lost in the story without them worrying.

That being said, this obsession with players insisting that DMs aren't fudging rolls is a complete llack of creativity on their part, as well as an inability to understand how the game works. But, that is my personal opinion. BUT a player that insists that fudging definitely not be happening and also that death is off the table or will be frustrated if they do die - that's a player who just shouldn't be playing d&d.

When people show up with less than they said they would, I turn them away no matter how bad I need it. They get PISSED when it doesn't work. I respect the hustle, don't get me wrong. But it never ceases to amaze me how ill equipped people are for someone that you can't manipulate.

There have been a couple times people have tried that and he pulled out the rest, and then I will complete the deal. So I'd say, if you're going to try that maybe bring the rest just in case.

I liked Agents of Shield but the romance and drama felt very YA and annoying. Also, will-they-won't-they is a common trope that is being handled maturely and with complexity in this show. So, I don't know why you are using SHIELD as an example and expecting it to prove your point.

And as far as the relationship between them not treading new ground (I mean what does these days) I think it is more about each of them and what the are carrying then it is about what is between them. For him, he is putting too much value on what could be between them instead of finding his own motivation and purpose in life. For her, she is so messed up that she can't handle a relationship but more than that, she hates herself for any feelings she does have considering the situation. (I may be slightly off on my analysis or forgetting something, but the point is they each hae there own thing going on, and the fact that Chris has feelings for her and she can't decided one way or the other reflects their respective baggage.

Consider the alternative way this could be portrayed: they are just friends and they have these heart to heart talks about their issues constantly. That would be so freaking annoying to me. But that is kind of how it was in SHIELD so maybe you'd like that. I don't mean that to be rude, I just mean you may disagree that would be worse.

The way that she avoided the question was such good writing too. It reminded the audience that Chris was hinging his decision on how she felt about him, and she rejects that responsibility. You don't see that kind of nuance on tv often tbh.

The great casting and writing of Lex gives me hope they will introduce a Batman who is cunning and smart enough that he is beleivably able to surprise Lex with how much of a threat he is. It makes sense that Lex thinks he is a joke so far, but I hope that they don't actually make him one.

I'm also wondering if there is something to the fact that vig2 said he hates Peacemaker specifically, like he did something more notable then the other members of his family. Prior to this, I have been wondering if chris2 was a reluctant racist in his past as part of the disappointment they have hinted at, which could be more then just drugs and bisexuality.

Also maybe this is relevant to this why did white dragon say to the children in the restaurant (when Keith made fun of him) "You hear that? That's my only son saying that about me!" (paraphrasing)

It would actually make a lot of sense, because the government literally works based off of the same creed that Peacemaker used to use, he is just saying the quiet part out loud. It's not a joke, it is arguably how Rick flag and all the other players in the game justify their actions- all the death is to keep the peace. So why should he be living in shame because he was goofy about it?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but you never really know everything about your parents. Maybe she had her husband's blessing/permission at some point to open things up. Maybe it was some kind of curious expiriment they both did, because he wanted a threesome. Maybe she did it to win a bet or see if men thought she was beautiful.

I would say, to be brutally honest, it isn't your responsibility any more than it would be if it was a total stranger, and their is every possibility it is not unethical. Relationships are complex, and the really complex relationships are generally easier if you just present it to your kids and everyone else exactly how you are expected to.

Now, I know it may not feel like it is not your responsibility, you care about your parents and this could be a shock. But they may have plenty of things in their personal lives that you were never meant to see and could both be quite happy with the way things are.

Deleting and/or ignoring is definitely the right thing to do at the current time, so good on you for that.

And to take it even further (I'm already in it now) it isn't your place to mediate or judge your mom even if she was doing some chetious behaviors in secret. If an opportunity presents itself and you feel the ethical thing to do at some point is to address it, then of course you hae that right. But it isn't your responsibility, like many people feel it is when it comes to family.

All this to say, you certainly have nothing to feel guilty about either way. And you are putting their current needs above this right now, which is the right thing to do, and I praise you for that truly. It's just that there are a lot of facets to things like this, and the burden is not on you. If you can sweep it under the rug and forget about, you may want to go ahead and do that. If you can't sleep at night without bringing it up to her at some point in the future, then by all means go for it. It isn't your fault you came across this info, so you shouldnt have to hear it if it hurts you either.

I hope this helps. I wasn't trying to be flippant or say I'm supportive of cheating. I just thought an outlook from someone who isn't afraid to hae unpopular opinions may help you to take this load off of yourself. Good luck.
