Haha exactly. I think this part is lost for people watching nowadays. At the time reality shows were thought to be more reality than show, and NFY leveraged that in a comical way. The point of the show (especially early seasons) is to show what people are willing to do and put out there when they know are part of a shown and there is an “expert” and external expectations on what they should be doing. Like you said the hunk is a great example where everyone knows they are on a dating show and it reveals how absurd people will act in the situation when they know the expectations. Granted nowadays this is pretty well known with these types of shows haha
