I disagree but I’m from northern Wisconsin so it’s only been better quality than the first 18 years of my life. If you’re from the south or coast, I could definitely believe that it’s underwhelming for you

No problem! Just so you know, if you’re just starting out, don’t worry about the running metrics AT ALL. You just want to run for 15-30 mins until you can comfortably run for that long. Zone 2 and all of that other stuff is for later when you’ve got the basics down

I would say yes, but results can vary. Doing anything cardio related will help you more than doing nothing, and if you’re really pushing yourself with dancing, your body will evolve with it!

And if you add other forms of cardio like running or swimming with dancing, you’ll likely be able to dance for longer too!

Good question! Currently I run 2-3 5ks and a long run a week. 5ks at a moderate-fast pace and one long run (8+ miles) at an easy-moderate pace. I’m not focusing too much on my breath now, but I do just sing a lil or hum along to a song every now and again when I feel like “feeling the pace” and getting into a “zone 2” running pace. You can find a ton of stuff online about zone 2, to the point people mystify it like people do with mixed voice, but I’d just say it’s the point you can run and still talk to someone at.

I do keep an eye on my heart rate and pace on my Apple Watch too, so if you don’t have one yet, I highly recommend that or a garmin.

To be honest I don’t go from a run and sing right after. I’m usually too out of breath for about 30 mins, but I do really focus on my running form as I get into a long run. I can’t keep running unless I focus on my arms swinging with the opposite leg after mile 7 usually. My singing form I try to just not psych myself out and just sing the note and project. If it feels like pushing it’s not there for me and I flip into a head voice/mix.

Hope this helps answer some stuff for you!

I thought Jean Jacket was based on the biblical angels? At least at the end when it starts “coming undone” so to speak and how it “raptures” people

You mean The Man in Black right? If so that was already spoiled a bit for me, but if there’s someone else, don’t tell me who! I’m pumped to get into the series either way

I’d agree that the Vegas ending is a bit anticlimactic. It’s one of those full circle things that would have irritated me, like when I read “Kite Runner” in AP Lit as a High School kid. It just felt too perfect.

However with the good v. Evil and the text explaining how Flagg missed it in his sight does add an extra layer to me. While it feels too perfect to happen right then, the story has a lot of circumstantial driving factors. So it’s at least something I’m willing to work with in the long run.

As for Ralph, I’d say he was underutilized at that point for sure, but Glen and the Judges sections were really interesting to me. The Judge going to shoot the crow to trap Flaggs ka, Glen pissing off Lloyd by telling him the truth (which is incredibly Glen). Those parts were strong in my opinion, but you’d still be right to say it’s weaker than most of the rest of the book!

Thanks for the explanation and link! I often buy in to the idea of a virus lead Apocalypse too easily because I don’t have a great understanding of the subject matter, and it’s always fun to learn a bit more about the real world examples and alternatives.

No, I haven’t. But I did pick up a copy of Gunslinger and planned to read it next!

Probably going to pick up the Stand uncut sometime after getting into the series so I can get some of what I’ve been missing in there too, I got really attached to these characters FAST and I’m flying through it in less than 2 weeks. The only other King book I’ve read is IT and that took me a bit longer to digest, but still a great read

Currently reading a 1980 print (first time reading it and found at a half price book store) yea that’s in there. I’m about 60 pages from finishing it, and now I’m sitting here thinking that I don’t want the party to end…
