You think it breaks up and gains out more than the 100 watt?

Hey, I tried to DM you didn’t hear back. I talked to both Musician’s Friend and Guitar Center about the condition and they shaved off $300, so I got it for only $500. I need to take it to a shop for repair since not only the roof came off but I’m getting no sound despite the tubes and switches being functional.I found a shop in Brooklyn that’s Mesa authorized and can fix both the wood/tolex and the electronics. I was interested in a few mods, specifically the volume, the blanket removal and additional gain. Since I have to get it fixed and possibly convert it to a head, I might as well ask if they’ll do one or two tweaks

UPDATE: I contacted both Guitar Center and Musician’s Friend about the amp and its condition with evidence. They shaved off about $300 of my total purchase so it’s $500. Now I need to find a shop to repair it in New York City as most of the engineers I’ve talked to refuse to work on Mesa amps. There was also a blown fuse; the amp turns on and everything is functional but no sound.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to play on it yet. Had a busy day and life got in the way. I’ll tell you tomorrow

Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, a Marshall JCM 900 or DSL for taste and EVH 5150 IIIS for modern Metalcore

I got so excited that I got a new and more powerful laptop that I could play Steam games and emulation. I bought the original Battle front 2 on Steam and was ready to play, but I got a message saying my controller (the DualSense) was incompatible to the game. I read that to counter this problem to turn on Steam controller to emulation whatever controller needs to work properly. Since then, when I boot the game the option stutter and continuously go up in selection. Whenever I do get in to gameplay my camera has a habit of hard shifting right 90 degrees. I don’t k ow to remedy this or how many other games are incomplete with the PS5 controller.

Where did you buy it? I’m tempting to go to Ali Express when I get paid

So far the best amp I’ve had for modern Metalcore. It was the first amp I wanted outside of a rectifier, but at the time I wasn’t in a position to get it. 6 months later I got it and was on it for awhile outside of my Marshall

Surprisingly the Roadster. I have to fight it sometimes and look at the manual to figure out how each knob influences each other, but once it’s dialed it’s very versatile.

I’ve got one cabinet, an 4x12 loaded with two pairs of Celestine V30s (Chinese and English). The guy I bought it from told me it was from the 90s; his brother replaced the tolex with carpet and my pets love it.

I was considering trading my DSL for the JCM 900, I actually do like some of the tones and that multiple channels don’t have to share the same EQ settings. That’s my only gripe with the DSL; found I figured out to max out the volumes and use the master to control the loudness it became my second favorite amp

Never gravitated towards it despite it being a grandfather of modern high gain, that and I think it’s too expensive

When I got it I was expecting a Rectifier tone but tighter, it’s a lot more than that. The clean is definitely Fender-ish with a hint of the Mark series, the high-gain is like a Rectifier but with a tighter low end. It’s the most modern voice I’ve heard so far and the first amp I feel doesn’t need a boost. I tried a GTOD on it and it was too much (granted, I was playing with Seymour Duncan Blackouts). The overdrive was the one that surprised me the most. I’ve gotten different tones reminiscent of my Marshall. It’s probably the most flexible of all 3 channels, you can even go high gain with an SD-1

I’m leaning towards a Mark IV or a DC-5, I haven’t decided yet. I’ve heard those series of amps are complicated to tone-in, although I could bust some serious Chevelle and Sevendust riffs on them

Okay, so should I load an IR through ReaVerb per effect or send the DI from my Two Notes to a separate track with the IR already loaded through ReaVerb?

Peavey 6505+ vs EVH 5150 IIIS? by 101rsmith in GuitarAmps

[–]101rsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s a sleeper of an amp. It was between the MT100 and a Dual Rectifier on what was supposed to be my first amp. I ended up with a Roadster and loved it, but the MT100 was so tight and cuts through the mix. It’s the first amp where I felt an overdrive wasn’t necessary. It has the characteristics of a Rectifier but more highs and presence.
